Summary: The study investigated the effects of a mindfulness intervention on emotional exhaustion, work engagement, and job satisfaction over 8 weeks. Findings showed that mindfulness increased over time and had indirect effects on the work outcomes. Growth curve analyses indicated a slight decrease in the positive effect of time on mindfulness.

Summary: There should be discussion about the function and effects of stereotypies in relation to the time during which they are shown. Studies show that variation in the timeline of expression of stereotypies can lead to different outcomes in animal welfare, with stereotypic behavior in the prenatal period potentially affecting the phenotype of offspring.

Summary: This paper examines the long-term effects of racism on health using large-scale, nationally representative data from the UK. The findings from longitudinal structural equation models indicate that racism has enduring effects on health, operating both directly and indirectly through lower income and poorer prior health. Repeated exposure to racism significantly and negatively impacts the health of individuals from minoritised ethnic groups.

Summary: Bee venom acupuncture (BVA) is a treatment involving injecting bee venom into specific acupuncture points to relieve various pain conditions. Researchers have studied the analgesic effects of BVA on musculoskeletal pain, inflammatory pain, and neuropathic pain through clinical use and experimental evaluation. Further clinical trials are needed to apply experimental results and standardize the use of BVA.

Summary: The study found that small and medium-sized Brazilian companies certified as B Corps achieved high scores in the certification assessment, but did not develop road maps for future improvements. Their main motivation for certification was to improve external reputation rather than reshaping internal processes to address governance issues.

Summary: The study aimed to determine the incidence of FAI diagnosis in patients with hip pain, and found that the overall incidence was 54.4 per 100,000 person-years. Incidence increased over time, with higher rates in female patients. The utilization of joint preservation operations, including hip arthroscopy and periacetabular osteotomy, also increased from 2000 to 2016.

Summary: Soil nitrogen availability is crucial for terrestrial ecosystems, and plant diversity plays a significant role in influencing soil nitrogen levels. This study found that soil nitrogen content increases with the number and age of plant species in mixtures, with greater positive effects observed in more diverse mixtures. Conservation of plant diversity not only enhances current vegetation productivity but also contributes to future vegetation productivity by increasing soil nitrogen retention.

Summary: The study found that welders have a higher incidence of musculoskeletal disorders compared to non-welders, particularly in the cervical, dorsal, lumbar, wrists, and hands. The presence of these disorders was associated with increased bodily pain and decreased health-related quality of life.

Summary: Pain is critical for organismal survival, evoking strong physiological and behavioral responses in various species. However, the long-term effects of early-life pain exposure on human and animal emotional responses remain poorly understood, indicating a need for further research in this area.

Summary: This study longitudinally investigated the relationships between neck/arm disability and pain profile measures in individuals with chronic nonspecific neck pain (NSNP) after a standardized physiotherapy intervention. The results showed that pain sensitivity can worsen following treatment despite reduced pain extent and unchanged neck disability and pain intensity scores over a six-month period in individuals with chronic NSNP.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the effects of isometric exercise on pain perception and its neural mechanisms. The results showed that high-intensity isometric exercise was more effective in reducing pain sensitivity compared to low-intensity exercise, and it also reduced the amplitudes of heat-evoked brain responses. This suggests that isometric exercise may modulate pain information transmission through a spinal gating mechanism and a top-down descending pain inhibitory mechanism.

Summary: Expressive flexibility refers to the ability to adjust emotion expressions according to situational demands. It has been linked to lower levels of depressive and anxiety symptoms and greater social acceptance. This study examined expressive flexibility across three cultural groups and their associations with life satisfaction and depressive symptoms over time.

Summary: The majority of work-life research has focused on work-life conflict/facilitation and balance constructs, but these constructs have been examined independently. This study aimed to replicate and extend a previous study exploring the relationship between work-life balance satisfaction, interdomain conflict, and facilitation. A three-wave longitudinal study was conducted to test the causal assumptions. The results showed consistency in the relationships between satisfaction with work and non-work life, work-life balance, and general stability over time. Work-life conflict and life-work facilitation had the strongest indirect effects on satisfaction constructs.
