Summary: The study demonstrated that Danshen water extract (DWE) and its major components, SalA and SalB, have the potential to reduce fibrillation of Aβ42 and protect neuronal cells from cell death associated with Aβ42 exposure. Furthermore, treating Drosophila melanogaster with DWE, SalA and SalB showed benefits in partially reversing degenerated eye structures, extending lifespan, and improving mobility in an Alzheimer's disease model.

Summary: This study reported a strategy for effective adsorption of Salvianolic acid A (SAA) from aqueous solution using surface molecularly imprinted magnetic nanoparticles (SIMNP). By selecting appropriate functional monomers, high-efficiency and highly selective adsorption of SAA was achieved in a short period of time, providing a new approach for the effective capture of SAA.

Summary: The study demonstrates that pretreatment with salvianolic acid A (SAA) can significantly improve neurological deficits, intracerebral hemorrhage, BBB disruption, and vascular endothelial dysfunction caused by ischemia, indicating its potential therapeutic strategy for the prevention of ischemic stroke by suppressing the Src signaling pathway.

Summary: The pharmacological mechanism of Salvianolic acid for injection (SAFI) in treating ischemic stroke (IS) was investigated using computational systems pharmacology. The results suggest that SAFI may function as an anti-inflammatory agent by inhibiting the activity of PTGS1 and PTGS2, genes associated with inflammation.

Summary: This study systematically evaluated the pharmacological mechanisms of Salvianolic acid C (SAC) in treating ischemic stroke (IS) using a network pharmacology and molecular docking approach. The results showed that SAC mainly counteracts stroke through anti-inflammatory and angiogenesis effects, and identified the related pathways and targets.

Summary: Research has shown that salvianolic acid A (SAA) has neuroprotective effects and promotes neurogenesis in ischemic stroke, possibly through activating the Wnt3a/GSK3 beta/β-catenin signaling pathway. This has important implications for improving the prognosis of stroke patients.

Summary: This study aimed to identify factors influencing medication beliefs in stroke survivors. The results showed that type D personality, state anxiety, and knowledge about medication are major mediating factors for improving medication beliefs. These results may help healthcare professionals develop strategies to enhance medication adherence by improving patients' medication beliefs.

Summary: In this study, a novel ischemia-reperfusion model was developed using zebrafish induced by hypoxic treatment. The H/R treatment led to increased brain cell death, reduced fluorescence intensity of kaede in neuronal cells, and significantly increased glial fibrillary acidic protein immunoreactivity in zebrafish larvae, indicating a potential new model for ischemia-reperfusion.

Summary: The study investigated the effects of borneol on the pharmacokinetics and brain distribution of tanshinone IIA, salvianolic acid B, and ginsenoside Rg1 in the Fufang Danshen preparation. Borneol significantly affected the pharmacokinetic parameters and brain distribution of the bioactive components, enhancing their absorption and distribution in the body and improving the therapeutic effect of the herbal preparation.

Summary: Occlusion of cerebral blood vessels leads to acute cerebral hypoxia, which is a major cause of ischemic white matter injury and stroke in sickle cell disease. IGF-1 supplementation may prevent hypoxia/reoxygenation-induced white matter injury in sickle cell disease.

Summary: This study reveals a Janus role of miR-210 in regulating apoptotic cell death of cardiomyocytes under hypoxia-reoxygenation stress. Specifically, miR-210 mitigates apoptotic cell death under hypoxia but exacerbates it during cellular reoxygenation. The underlying cellular mechanisms responsible for this dual effect of miR-210 on apoptotic cell death are also elucidated.
