Summary: This systematic review demonstrates the feasibility of integrating family planning into HIV services. Facilitators of successful integration include training for service providers, a supportive policy environment, supportive supervision, and positive attitudes towards integration. Barriers to integration include human resource turnover, lack of policy guidance, poor oversight, unclear service delivery guidelines, inadequate infrastructure, and insufficient monitoring systems.

Summary: The study found that publicly funded family planning clinics in the Southern U.S. use different models of providing PrEP services, with some clinics offering all steps of PrEP care and others referring to external providers. Main barriers include funding and staff-related resource limitations, highlighting the need to increase onsite PrEP services in clinics.

Summary: We examine the impact of financial integration on financial stability and explore government intervention policies to maximize stability and welfare. We find that while depositors have access to information on their bank's investment quality, there is a friction preventing them from assessing the quality of investments in other banks. This leads to contagion risk as troubled banks may be forced to liquidate investments in other banks. To mitigate this risk and reduce crisis costs, governments can implement various policies such as recapitalizing troubled banks, increasing capital requirements, or providing a lender-of-last-resort policy.

Summary: The study found that a large number of VCT clients expressed a desire to either limit or delay childbearing. Among sexually active clients, 30% were current users of family planning, while 60% of non-users planned to use it in the future. The unmet need for family planning among sexually active clients was 55%.

Summary: Key mechanisms and contextual factors were identified in a realist evaluation on the integrated delivery of immunisations and family planning in Ethiopia. These mechanisms and drivers play a crucial role in intervention implementation, influencing decision making and outcomes among health workers, religious leaders, and community members. The study findings provide insights into how and for whom the intervention works, allowing for a level of abstraction through linking empirical mechanisms with theoretical frameworks of implementation.

Summary: Economic interventions targeting families raising adolescents orphaned by AIDS can lead to long-term positive impacts on their physical, mental, and sexual health, including higher physical health scores, lower depressive symptoms, and improved self-concept and self-efficacy. Additionally, these interventions can help reduce sexual risk-taking behaviors and improve overall well-being by increasing savings and reducing food insecurity.

Summary: The study found that the overall integration of family planning/HIV services among women of reproductive age living with HIV in the Oromia region was moderate at 55.8%. Factors such as education level, occupational status, residence, discussion of family planning with healthcare providers, fertility desire, and CD4 counts were identified as influencing the integration of family planning with HIV services. Most respondents preferred integrated services from the same facility and providers, and were satisfied with the utilization of integrated family planning/HIV services.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the status of integrating family planning (FP) services into primary health care (PHC) in Ethiopia and identify the facilitators and barriers to integration. The study included 60 interviews with stakeholders, including government and non-government organizations, service providers, and clients. We found that while dedicated FP staff provide services in designated units within PHC facilities, the provision of integrated FP services within other PHC units is in its early stage. Integration with post-abortion care, post-natal care, and youth-friendly service centers showed exemplary results that need to be used as good practices. The study identified challenges including resource shortage, health worker shortage, misconceptions about FP, religious and socio-cultural norms, and lack of awareness. The positive attitude of service providers and the commitment of the government and partners were identified as facilitators of integration. The study recommends expanding the successful practices of FP integration to other components of PHC and addressing supply- and demand-side challenges to facilitate the integration of FP services with PHC.
