Summary: The study on the structural asymmetry of metallic atomic contacts reveals that the current rectification properties are correlated with the conductance of the nanocontacts, with a significant suppression observed for contacts with integer multiples of the conductance quantum. The rectification variations in current increase significantly before the breakage of the atomic contacts.

Summary: The paper discusses transport properties in N/S point contacts in the ballistic regime, emphasizing the impact of Andreev reflection in superconductors. It is found that even in simple and conventional superconductors, a variety of spectral features may appear in the conductance spectra depending on the shape and size of the contact.

Summary: Electrical contacts to carbon nanowalls (CNWs) were studied with Ag, Au, and Mg as contact materials in a temperature range of 25°C to 300°C. The contact resistance and specific contact resistivity decreased with increasing temperature, with low thermal activation energies. The contact resistance dominated the current transport between the metal electrodes and had little dependence on the work function of the metal species, attributed to the semi-metallic feature of CNWs.

Summary: This study investigated the chemical composition, microstructure, textural characteristics, and organoleptic characteristics of soft cheese made by replacing cow milk with corn milk at different concentrations. The results showed that increasing the ratio of corn milk led to higher phenolic components and antioxidant activity, as well as increased cheese yield. Soft cheese made by replacing 20% of cow milk with corn milk received the highest sensory evaluation score. Adding corn milk improved the microstructure of the cheese.

Summary: This method determines electric equivalent circuit parameters of piezoelectric ceramic transducers from their resonance characteristics, focusing on commonly available transducers and being cost efficient. The key part is an iterative process to find the parameters, using linearized equations to determine them. The advantage lies in simplicity of measurement and calculation without the need for expensive circuit analyzers.

Summary: The key to high-yielding peanut cultivation lies in optimizing agricultural production practices, such as regulating single-seed precise sowing density and applying paclobutrazol (Pbz). These practices improve plant architecture, lodging resistance, and photosynthetic characteristics, resulting in increased peanut yield.

Summary: Previous studies have shown that moisture can enhance lubricity and wear resistance of carbon-metal contact pairs in purely mechanical conditions. However, in rainfall conditions, damage to pantograph carbon strips is worsened, leading to a shorter service life. This suggests a novel mechanism of water influence on carbon-copper (C-Cu) contacts during current-carrying friction.

Summary: In this study, carbon nanoparticle coatings were proposed to reduce fretting wear on electrical contacts. Experimental results demonstrated that these coatings can act as solid lubricants, minimizing connector damage, while having a minor impact on substrate conductivity.

Summary: This paper compares the contact resistance values estimated using both DC and impedance spectroscopic data of alkanethiolate SAM-based molecular junctions reported previously. It shows that DC measurements alone fail to show the actual molecular behaviour of the junction for molecular tunnel junctions with a resistive protective layer (PL), while impedance measurements estimate the actual values of contact resistance and identify the bottlenecks in charge transport through such a defective molecular junction.
