Summary: The hybrid model proposed can comprehensively evaluate the availability of mineral resources, assessed by two indicators in a coordinate system. After evaluating 13 strategic minerals in China, it was found that gold, tin, and lead have significant potential in the future availability, while iron, aluminum, and copper have relatively lower potential. Zirconium, chromium, lithium, cobalt, tungsten, and nickel are technology-based strategic minerals, while molybdenum is market-oriented.

Summary: The study revealed that the written confirmation of alibi evidence is weaker when participants are confronted with incriminating evidence such as camera footage or identification testimony, but there is no difference in oral confirmation. Surprisingly, the confirmation rates were the same for camera footage and identification evidence, although they were higher in session 1 compared to session 2. These findings highlight the impact of these types of evidence on the availability of alibi evidence in court and stress the importance of documenting evidence contamination.

Summary: Lattice distortions play a crucial role in determining the mechanical properties of concentrated metallic alloys. In this study, we developed an elastic model to describe lattice distortions, considering each atom as an Eshelby inclusion in a homogeneous elastic matrix. The model was tested on various alloy systems and showed good predictive performance when the size and elastic modulus mismatches were below 5% and 25%, respectively. Interestingly, we found that in certain alloys, such as FeNiCr, lattice distortions were mainly influenced by the fluctuations of dilatational eigenstrains rather than their average values.

Summary: This study introduces a theoretical and numerical methodology for calculating Frank elastic constants by considering the coupling between molecular shape and specific deformation modes. A comparison between two benchmark systems highlights the distinct features of this approach, including additional order parameters and ideal contribution to deformation free energy. The impact of different molecular conformations on elastic constants is discussed using a simple system that serves as a minimalist model of liquid crystal trimers.

Summary: Biodegradable synthetic hydrogels have shown promise for tissue engineering and drug/cell delivery applications, but successful implementation requires a precise understanding of degradation response. This work presents a thermodynamically-consistent framework and constitutive models for simulating degradation-induced swelling in hydrogels, validated against experimental data. The models could be beneficial for designing hydrogels with controlled degradation behavior.

Summary: This study explores the prevalence of creatinine kinase elevation in Dutch adolescents with acute alcohol intoxication. Data from a major hospital in Delft, the Netherlands, were collected from 2008 to 2021. Among the 495 adolescents included in the study, 60% had elevated creatinine kinase levels, with a mean of 254 U/I. Rhabdomyolysis was present in 4.4% of cases and higher blood alcohol concentration was associated with higher creatinine kinase levels.

Summary: Changes in the lives of emerging adults due to the COVID-19 pandemic have increased the need for external supports. This study examines the factors associated with adults returning to live with their parents in 2019 and 2020. The study found that loss of work and increased need for emotional and financial support were key drivers of these moves. Many of those who returned faced difficulties in spending more time with family and had their support needs unmet, leading to poorer coping and subsequent psychological distress. The study highlights the importance of family support but also acknowledges the additional challenges that can arise from returning to live with parents.

Summary: The study analyzed alcohol industry submissions to Australia's National Alcohol Strategy and found that the industry systematically manipulated, misused, and ignored evidence to support their claims about alcohol policy. It is crucial to scrutinize industry submissions and not accept them at face value. Additionally, it is recommended that the alcohol industry be subject to independent governance, similar to the regulation of the tobacco industry, to prevent their attempts to undermine evidence-based public health policy.

Summary: Chemsex refers to the intentional use of substances in sexualized settings among men who have sex with men. It is a growing public health issue with estimated prevalence rates of 3% to 29% in this population. Chemsex poses risks such as HIV and STI exposure, addiction, cardiovascular problems, and mental health issues. However, there is a research gap in this area, and existing theoretical concepts and therapeutic strategies for addictions and risky sexual behaviors may not be applicable to chemsex due to its unique characteristics and impact on stigmatized minorities.
