Summary: In this study, 12 MdGRF genes were identified in apple, which were classified into four clusters based on protein sequence similarity and showed tissue-specific expression patterns. Some MdGRFs were found to be responsive to hormonal treatments. Overexpression of MdGRF02 in apple resulted in increased root elongation, suggesting its potential role in root growth regulation.

Summary: Pectin is an important component of the plant cell wall, and Galacturonosyltransferase-like (GATL) is involved in pectin formation in Arabidopsis thaliana. In this study, 12 PtGATL genes were identified and characterized in Populus trichocarpa. The genes were categorized into six groups based on phylogenetic analysis and showed segmental duplication on chromosomes. Tissue-specific expression patterns and regulation by carbon dioxide and nitrogen concentrations were also observed. This study provides important information on the function of PtGATL genes in poplar.

Summary: In this study, 33 PgEXPs were identified from the whole genome data of pomegranate. These PgEXPs belong to the EXPA, EXPB, EXLA, and EXLB subfamilies. Analysis revealed that members within the same subfamily shared similar gene structures and motif compositions, indicating similar biological functions. Gene expression analysis and protein interaction network suggested potential roles of PgEXPs in pectin lyase protein synthesis and cell wall formation enzymes. Additionally, the expression levels of PgEXP varied significantly across different fruit developmental phases.

Summary: A comprehensive genome-wide analysis of nitrogen assimilation related genes (NAGs) in Brassica napus was conducted, revealing 67 NAGs with diverse responses to nutrient stresses and identifying 12 hub genes responding to nitrogen starvation. The study provides a basis for further functional research on NAGs in rapeseed nitrogen assimilation and sheds light on their responses to contrasting nutrient stresses.

Summary: The auxin receptor plays a significant role in the plant auxin signalling pathway in response to abiotic stress. Through a microarray study on transgenic rice overexpressing ABP57, researchers identified 12 modules of highly related genes that are involved in specific responses to drought or other abiotic stress types. Gene set enrichment analysis highlighted modules related to transmembrane transport of metal ions and response to oxidative stress as being highly upregulated. The integration of co-expression information with physical interaction data identified 123 hub genes. Additionally, the interplay between the metabolism pathways of chlorophyll and flavonoid and the signalling pathways of MAPK, IAA, and SA suggested their concurrent involvement in stress tolerance response.

Summary: Through bioinformatics analysis, six DXS genes were identified and divided into three groups from the whole genome of T. ciliata. These genes encode products that do not vary much in size and possess light, abiotic stress, and hormone responsive elements. The subcellular localization of TcDXS1/2/5 showed that they were located in the chloroplast envelope membranes. TcDXS1/2/5 had the highest expression in mature leaves, and their different expressions under Hypsipyla robusta stress indicated potential insect-resistance functions. This research provides a theoretical basis for further functional verification of TcDXSs and breeding pest-resistant T. ciliata.

Summary: The study revealed that the expression levels of RFC2, RFC3, RFC4, and RFC5 were increased in sarcoma tissues, and their high expression was associated with poor prognosis in sarcoma patients. In addition, RFC expression was negatively correlated with the infiltration of CD4+ T cells and macrophages. Therefore, RFC2, RFC3, RFC4, and RFC5 may serve as promising prognostic biomarkers for sarcoma.
