In structure of the title compound ammonium ferulate monohydrate, NH4+center dot C10H9O4-center dot H2O, O-H center dot center dot center dot O and N-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds link the ammonium cations, ferulate anions and water molecules into a three-dimensional array. The ferulate anion is approximately planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.307 (2) angstrom.
