Summary: This study reports a rational one-step surface coordination approach for the synthesis of Cu dendrites with an ultrastable Cu delta+ state and hydrophobicity (Cu CF), even after exposure to air for over 6 months. Cu CF exhibited a C-2 FE of 90.6% at a partial current density of 453.3 mA cm(-2) in a flow cell. Stable electrolysis at high current densities and continuous production of high purity C2H5OH solution were achieved using Cu CF as a catalyst.

Summary: Moderate to high yields of optically active α-azido-β-ketoesters with chiral tertiary carbons were obtained through a catalytic enantioselective alpha-azidation reaction using a chiral tin dibromide derived from (R)-BINOL and an azidated hypervalent iodine reagent, in the presence of sodium ethoxide and ethanol.

Summary: In this study, C3+ amino acids with various functional groups were synthesized via electrocatalytic synthesis from CO2 and NH3, using chiral Cu films as electrodes. The formation of chiral kink sites on the electrodes was found to restrict the configuration changes of C3+ intermediates, leading to the formation of enantiomeric serine.

Summary: The development of efficient CO2 utilization reactions has attracted significant attention, but the research on catalytic enantioselective CO2 utilization for fine chemicals is still limited. There have been excellent methods reported using chiral metal complex catalysts, as well as organocatalyzed approaches. This review focuses on recent advances in catalytic enantioselective CO2 utilization reactions using chiral organocatalysts and provides a forecast for future research.

Summary: By modifying CuO nanowire electrodes with a thick Nafion overlayer, a hydrophobic electrode surface was constructed, which enhanced the selectivity of CO2 RR and suppressed HER activity. This work emphasizes the importance of hydrophobicity in the selectivity of CO2 reduction.

Summary: This study investigates the kinetics of the CO2 hydrogenation to methanol reaction and finds that the Cu-sites and oxygen vacancies play important roles in the reaction mechanism. The study also reveals that the hydrogenation of CO is more preferred than the hydrogenation of CO2 at high temperatures.

Summary: Water vapor affects the CO2 separation performance of solid amine sorbents. The introduction of hydrophobic phenyl groups reduces water vapor adsorption and improves the CO2/H2O selectivity of amine resin sorbents. This modification resulted in a reduced CO2 uptake but a stable CO2 capacity in consecutive temperature swing adsorption cycles.

Summary: This study demonstrates the diastereoselective double C-H heteroarylation of chiral ferrocenes using Pd-complexes with chiral mono-protected amino acids, resulting in a variety of functionalized compounds. The absolute configurations of CH-activation products were confirmed using X-ray crystallographic analysis and CD spectroscopy, while insights into the reaction mechanism and stereoinduction were provided by F-19 NMR kinetic study and DFT calculations.

Summary: A highly efficient synthesis of axially chiral biaryl amines through cobalt-catalyzed atroposelective C-H arylation using accessible cobalt(II) salt and salicyloxazoline ligand has been reported. This methodology provides a straightforward and sustainable access to a wide range of enantioenriched biaryl-2-amines with high yields (up to 99%) and excellent enantioselectivities (up to 99% ee). The scalability and diverse transformations highlight the synthetic utility of this unprecedented method.

Summary: The catalytic hydroarylation of alkynes is a useful method for synthesizing functionalized alkenes with excellent control of regio- and stereochemistry. However, there is a scarcity of asymmetric methodologies in this field. In this study, an atroposelective Ir-catalyzed C-H hydroarylation of alkynes was developed, enabling the asymmetric synthesis of axially chiral heterobiaryl trisubstituted olefins with high yields and enantioselectivities up to 98% ee.

Summary: This paper describes an asymmetric [3+2] annulation reaction of arylnitrones with different classes of alkynes catalyzed by chiral rhodium(III) complexes, resulting in the construction of three classes of chiral indenes/indenones. The coupling system features mild reaction conditions, excellent enantioselectivity, and high atom-economy, producing atropochiral pentatomic biaryls with C-centered point-chirality in excellent enantio- and diastereoselectivity.
