Summary: This paper proposes a simple and effective approach for infrared and visible image fusion (IVIF) using a feature-oriented dual-module complementary. The spatial gradient capture module (SGCM) and infrared brightness supplement module (IBSM) are constructed by analyzing five classical operators comprehensively. The proposed method outperforms nine state-of-the-art methods in terms of subjective visual and objective indicators, as demonstrated by experiments on public datasets.

Summary: This paper proposes a blind image quality assessment (BIQA) method to quantify the night-time image quality by investigating fundamental image properties and designing specific features to characterize the image properties properly. The quality-aware features are then used with support vector regression (SVR) method to infer the image quality. Experimental results on a representative night-time image database show that the proposed BIQA method achieves superior prediction performance compared to other state-of-the-art BIQA methods.

Summary: This study aims to develop a crater-matching algorithm to enhance the matching rate and address the issues of insufficient feature extraction and mismatching of irregular celestial objects and crater edge information on dim surface of celestial bodies images. The images were captured by the detector's navigation camera. To improve the brightness and clarity, the target images underwent filtering, denoising, and image enhancement using bilateral filtering and improved histogram equalization. The enhanced image was then extracted and matched using the ORB feature point detection algorithm based on scale invariance, with mismatched feature points processed using the Hamming distance screening method. The simulation results demonstrated that the optimized algorithm effectively improved the imaging quality in dark and weak light environments, increased the number of extracted feature points, reduced the mismatch of effective feature point pairs, and improved the matching rate.
