Synthesis of 2-Acyl-Substituted Pyrazine Derivatives through Silver-Catalyzed Decarboxylative Coupling Reactions

An efficient regioselective acylation reaction of pyrazine with alpha-oxocarboxylic acid via silver catalysis has been developed. The desired acyl substituted pyrazine derivatives were isolated in up to 97% yields and features a very broad substrate scope. Thermogravimetric analysis of particular product 3 o indicated that its fracture temperature was about 248 degrees C.
