Summary: The present study used a survey and structural equation modeling to investigate citizens' self-reported pro-environmental behaviors based on five personality traits. The study focused on the connections between motivations, values, intentions, norms, and behaviors using constructs from the value-belief-norm theory and explored how these connections varied across different personality traits. The findings suggest that personal conscience can inspire environmentally beneficial behaviors, such as green purchasing and waste reduction, by appealing to the emotions of the general public, and interventions focusing on communication tactics are needed to strengthen subjective norms.

Summary: Electric vehicles (EVs) are becoming increasingly popular due to advancements in technology, cost savings, and public support for cleaner transportation. This research aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of consumer purchasing behavior in the EV market by integrating the value-belief-norm theory and the theory of planned behavior. The results of a structural equation analysis on 403 participants showed that altruistic and biospheric values positively influence awareness of consequences, while egoistic values have a negative impact on awareness of consequences. The study also supported the proposed linkages among value-based constructs, including awareness of consequences, ascription of responsibility, and pro-environmental personal norms.

Summary: Governments and businesses are promoting electric vehicles as a sustainable solution to environmental issues. However, there is limited research on the factors influencing people's intention to adopt electric vehicles. This study adopts the extended Theory of Planned Behaviour and includes pro-environmental variables to examine their direct and indirect effects on behavioural intention. The findings highlight the role of personal norms and the indirect impact of environmental knowledge on the model. The study's conclusions have important implications for increasing electric vehicle acceptance in India.

Summary: Marine ecological tourism has gained popularity recently, as has the public's conspicuous consumption behavior, which has been studied by scholars. This study aims to explore and stimulate the public's conspicuous consumption behavior in marine ecological tourism by using the value-belief-norm theory and fuzzy set Qualitative Comparative Analysis method. Findings show that different combinations of conditional elements from various dimensions can lead to the goal of public conspicuous consumption behavior, and a single-dimensional element is not necessary. Environmental values, such as biosphere values and altruistic values, significantly influence the public's conspicuous consumption behavior.

Summary: This research investigated the interactive role of norms and attitudes in predicting voluntary energy conservation behaviors in the workplace. It found that employees' ambivalence towards their organization's pro-environmental initiatives moderates the relationship between norm conflicts and reported energy conservation behaviors.

Summary: The study found that environmental values and general environmental beliefs are distal drivers of engagement in pro-environmental behaviors, directly impacting these behaviors. Effective policies and interventions need to consider both proximal and distal influences on behavior, as well as support shared values and primary beliefs within society or culture.

Summary: The study aims to analyze the importance of pro-environmental behavior drivers in five European countries (Greece, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, and the United Kingdom). The results show that attitudinal and value-related factors have a significant impact on pro-environmental behavior, along with the relationship to nature and the experience of the COVID-19 pandemic. Greenhouse gas emissions have a negative influence, while the share of renewable energy sources has a positive influence on pro-environmental behavior. Therefore, it is suggested to focus on environmental education and attitudes towards nature to promote pro-environmental behavior.

Summary: Tourism brings economic benefits but also causes environmental problems. Besides regulatory measures, this research focuses on the voluntary changes in tourists' behavior to encourage environment-friendly behavior. Using the value-belief-norm theory and religious beliefs concept, the study examines religious tourists' pro-environmental behavior (PEB). The results confirm the relationships between tourists' values, beliefs, and personal norms that predict PEB, and highlight the strengthening effect of religious beliefs on personal norms for PEB.

Summary: Organizations are encouraged to adopt responsible production patterns aligned with sustainable development goals, as pro-environmental behaviors in the workplace can strengthen positive impacts and promote sustainable transitions. Perceptions of organizational policies, coworkers' behaviors, and personal norms play a significant role in influencing employees' voluntary pro-environmental behaviors at work. Additionally, organizational climate and coworkers' descriptive norms have direct effects on self-reported pro-environmental behaviors, emphasizing the importance of organizational initiatives in promoting behavioral change.

Summary: This study conducted a meta-analysis to examine the relationships between different norm constructs and pro-environmental behavior. The results showed that personal norms were consistently the strongest predictor of pro-environmental behavior, and that injunctive and descriptive norms influenced behavior through personal norms. Additionally, collectivism and behavioral cost did not moderate the predictive strength of social norms on pro-environmental behavior.
