Summary: The study in China found that married individuals were more likely to be overweight and obese compared to those who were never married. Divorced or widowed individuals also had a higher risk of being overweight or obese. While marriage was associated with an increased risk of overweight and obesity, exiting a marriage did not significantly reduce this risk.

Summary: This study investigated the relationship between screen time use, sleep characteristics, daytime somnolence, and academic performance in school-aged adolescents. The survey was conducted on 1,257 adolescents aged 12 to 18 from 52 schools in urban or suburban areas of Argentina. The results showed that screen use had a negative impact on nighttime sleep, daytime somnolence, and academic performance among adolescents. The findings emphasize the need for educational public campaigns to promote healthy sleep and reduce screen exposure in this population.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effects of caffeine exposure on children's health. The findings suggest that higher caffeine consumption is associated with increased risks of obesity and overweight, as well as higher BMI z-scores and waist circumference. The relationship between caffeine exposure and adverse adiposity outcomes is more significant in children aged 6-11 years compared to those aged 12-19 years.

Summary: Obesity is associated with different types of cancer, but its role in melanoma incidence, progression, and response to immune-checkpoint-inhibitors (ICI) is still controversial. While increased levels of lipids and adipokines can promote tumor proliferation, immunotherapy seems to be more effective in obese animal models. Several studies have investigated the role of body mass index (BMI) as a prognostic marker in advanced melanoma patients treated with ICI, but the evidence is limited. A meta-analysis of 18 articles found that BMI should not be currently recommended as a predictor of melanoma patients' survival in terms of progression free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS).

Summary: Short dinner-to-bed time is associated with an increased likelihood of being overweight or characterized by abdominal obesity among Chinese school-aged children in Ningbo, China. On the other hand, a long dinner-to-bed time is linked to lower risks of overweight and abdominal obesity. The association between dinner-to-bed time and overweight/abdominal obesity appears to be linear.
