Summary: The study found that Thailand's new hospital payment mechanism in 2007 resulted in a 1% decrease in hospitalization rate, a 10% increase in the likelihood of admission at community hospitals, and a 7% decrease in the likelihood of admission at higher level public health care facilities. However, this policy change did not have a significant impact on length of stay, frequency of admission, or out-of-pocket inpatient medical expenditure.

Summary: The pandemic crisis has greatly affected the healthcare supply chain (HSC), leading to a focus on the sustainability of the HSC. This study identified key attributes of a sustainable healthcare supply chain (SHSC) and proposed a new four-dimensional model consisting of social, environmental, economic, and technological dimensions. Through a literature review and the input of experts, 22 appropriate attributes were identified and categorized within the model, prioritizing patient safety.

Summary: This study introduces a novel and straightforward diagnostic method, the collapsing index (CI), to identify the dynamic status of cores in massive star forming regions based on the radial profile of dense gas line width. Applying this method to the Orion molecular cloud, the researchers successfully distinguished a collapsing core from a hydrostatic one, improving the understanding of the interaction between gravity and turbulence within molecular cloud cores during the star formation process.

Summary: Operating room scheduling is a complex and important research topic. This study applies a mathematical model to handle patient admission scheduling with stochastic arrivals and departures. The study provides solution techniques, numerical model analysis, and examples to demonstrate the methodology. The results show that the stochastic model outperforms deterministic models in solving operating room scheduling problems.

Summary: This review examines the current state of protocolized follow-up after pediatric sepsis requiring PICU admission, finding that new or worsening co-morbidities are worse within months of discharge, but may persist. Sepsis survivors may have distinct needs and a different post-PICU trajectory in terms of quality of life and neurocognitive outcomes compared to other critically ill children. Future research should focus on developing screening protocols and conducting protocolized follow-up trials to reduce morbidity after pediatric sepsis.

Summary: This study aims to validate the TAS Test for identifying preclinical AD and predicting the risk of cognitive decline and AD dementia. If successful, the TAS Test could provide a low-cost and accessible pre-screening method to determine individuals' likelihood of AD pathology without the need for expensive blood or imaging tests. The precision of the TAS Test is of great importance for public health initiatives and clinical trials.

Summary: This study empirically explores how health-seeking behaviors of older adults are influenced by new health conditions through factors such as COVID-19 risks, worse financial situation, and lowered income. The findings suggest that these factors have longitudinal mediating effects on treatment cancellation and accessible care among older adults, highlighting the importance of addressing financial and health risks for service needs.

Summary: This study explored the relationship between women's locus of control and stress coping strategies, and their attitudes towards medicalization in childbirth. The findings suggest that both internal locus of control and preparatory coping strategies are associated with a less favorable attitude towards medicalization, while the lack of a paid job increases the probability of having a favorable attitude.

Summary: The physical performance of cancer patients is crucial, and bioimpedance is now being used to assess body composition. In this study, the relationship between the phase angle (PhA) obtained from bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) and physical performance measurements was investigated. The results showed that PhA was highly correlated with various physical performance indicators, such as 400m walking test, upper-body strength, lower-body strength, VO2peak, and ventilatory thresholds. Age was found to affect the relationship between PhA and physical performance, with older age showing a stronger relationship. This study highlights the importance of measuring PhA in assessing the physical performance of cancer patients during treatment.

Summary: How individuals cope with stress during pregnancy can affect their levels of anxiety and depression, which in turn can impact the health of both the mother and the baby. This study identified the coping strategies most commonly used by pregnant women in Spain and examined their association with anxiety and depression. The results show that avoidance coping was strongly associated with higher rates of anxiety and depressive symptoms.

Summary: The relationship between the phase angle (PhA), obtained by bioimpedance analysis, and psychological factors in cancer patients was studied. The study included 311 patients who underwent bioimpedance testing and completed psychological questionnaires. The results showed a statistical correlation between PhA and psychological factors, indicating that PhA is a useful tool for assessing the subjective health perception of cancer patients, especially in terms of psychological well-being.
