Summary: This communication presents a periodic mirror-reflected circular-polarized leaky wave antenna with dual-beam scanning in dual polarization types. The antenna unit cell employs two orthogonally separated oblique stubs to create circular polarization. A new method of adding a groove at the junction of stubs within the unit cell is introduced to improve the axial ratio and beam-scanning characteristics. To achieve dual-beam scanning in dual circular polarization, a metallic via is added at the end of the antenna for mirror reflection. The measured results show good agreement with the simulated ones, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed antenna design.

Summary: This letter presents a novel technique for achieving circular polarizations (CPs) at 2.45 GHz ISM and 3.5 GHz WiMAX bands using a polarization-converting metasurface (PCMS). By combining different modes and phase shifts, four distinct PCMSs are designed to generate left-hand CP, right-hand CP, or a combination of both in the desired frequency bands. One of the PCMS-based monopole antennas is fabricated and measured, demonstrating wide impedance bandwidth, high gain, high efficiency, and low specific absorption rate (SAR), making it suitable for off-body communication.

Summary: A new self-oscillating circularly polarized active integrated antenna (CPAIA) with boosted conversion efficiency is proposed in this letter. The proposed antenna achieves a conversion efficiency 40% better than the second best design in the literature by integrating a CP exciter with a pair of anti-symmetrically arranged parasitic radiators. The fabricated and tested CPAIA demonstrates good agreement between the simulated and measured results, validating the design concept and highlighting the advantages of the proposed design.

Summary: In this paper, a wideband circularly polarized reflectarray antenna using rotational symmetrical crossed dipoles is proposed. Coupled crossed dipoles are investigated for the first time as the unit cell to achieve wideband reflection bandwidth in the antenna design. The CP reflection bandwidth is greatly improved and adjusted by controlling the coupling between the crossed dipoles, thanks to the excitation of two series resonances and two parallel resonances on the crossed dipoles. A collimated CP RA antenna with a circular aperture of 316 unit cells is designed based on this unit cell, and a wide CP bandwidth of 7.6-15.9 GHz is achieved with AR<3 dB.

Summary: This article presents a novel CP antenna based on an anisotropic metamaterial that can convert linear polarization to circular polarization over a wideband of frequencies in the X-band. The antenna consists of a metamaterial-based polarizer mounted above the aperture of a rectangular waveguide, oriented at 45 degrees to the waveguide's E-plane. The polarizer is composed of multiple metamaterial layers and incorporates rectangular split ring resonators on both sides of a dielectric slab. Impedance matching layers are introduced to enhance the axial-ratio bandwidth.
