Summary: In this paper, an energy-efficient load balancing tree-based data aggregation scheme (LB-TBDAS) for grid-based wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is proposed. The LB-TBDAS scheme partitions the sensing area into grid cells and selects a sensor node with the maximum residual energy as the cell head in each cell. The tree-like path is then established using the minimum spanning tree algorithm, and the cell head collects and transmits the sensing data to the base station (BS). Simulation results show that LB-TBDAS significantly reduces energy consumption compared to other schemes and extends the network lifetime.

Summary: The LEACH-TM protocol proposed in this paper utilizes dynamic decision cluster head nodes, residual energy, and neighbor node density to better constrain the cluster size, improve energy efficiency, and defend against internal attacks through a trust management scheme. Simulation results demonstrate that LEACH-TM outperforms LEACH-SWDN and LEACH protocols in prolonging network lifetime, balancing energy consumption, and mitigating the influence of malicious nodes on cluster head selection, ensuring overall network security.

Summary: This paper proposes a real-time routing protocol called EAR2 for mobile sinks in wireless sensor networks. EAR2 calculates data delivery speed by considering the static distance to the expected area of a mobile sink's location and its movement speed, in order to meet the desired time deadline. Additionally, a protocol called EAR2M with multiple flooding points is proposed to reduce flooding time and enhance data transmission reliability.

Summary: This paper introduces a novel application scenario for WSNs where raw data is collected using a multihop network without redundant sensor nodes. A new routing protocol called HTC-RDC is proposed to prolong the lifetime of WSNs in this scenario. Experimental results show that HTC-RDC can significantly extend the network lifetime compared to existing protocols.

Summary: This paper proposes an energy-efficient multi-hop routing protocol called UASGRP by using uneven annulus sector grid clustering and multi-hop relay transmission mechanism to balance the energy consumption of nodes effectively. Simulation results demonstrate that UASGRP outperforms other grid-based clustering schemes in energy consumption balance and scalability for networks of various sizes.

Summary: Recent studies show that mobile data collectors can significantly reduce the energy hole problem in wireless sensor networks, extending network lifetime. Existing schemes using mobile data collectors struggle to balance routing energy consumption and data delivery delay, and sensor network protocols often fail to maintain impact as the network topology changes.
