Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the impact of lymphovascular space invasion (LVSI) on survival in patients with early stage endometrioid endometrial cancer. The analysis of data from 415 patients with stage I and grade 1-2 endometrial cancer showed that LVSI significantly correlated with 3-year and 5-year survival rates and acted as a strong prognostic factor. Therefore, LVSI should be implemented in endometrial cancer staging systems.

Summary: The search for immunohistochemical prognostic markers for relapse in low-risk/low-grade endometrioid endometrial cancers is still ongoing. Human epididymis protein 4 (HE4) has been identified as a potential marker, but current assays cannot distinguish between different protein isoforms of HE4.

Summary: The study demonstrates that obese conditions upregulate LIF/LIFR signaling, promoting progression of endometrioid endometrial cancer (EEC). The LIFR inhibitor EC359 shows potential in suppressing tumor progression in obese patients.

Summary: High grade endometrioid endometrial cancer (HGEEC) is a heterogeneous group of tumors with unclear prognostic features. Cervical stromal involvement is independently related to recurrence and cancer-related death. The recurrence pattern suggests the potential use of patient-initiated follow-up (PIFU) for HGEEC survivors, especially for patients without cervical involvement and after two years from treatment.

Summary: The study found that CTNNB1 exon 3 mutation in low-grade, early-stage endometrioid endometrial carcinomas has a negative impact on disease-free survival, but no effect on overall survival; and nuclear beta-catenin shows better predictive value for CTNNB1 exon 3 mutation in these tumors.

Summary: The study found that AKR1B1 and AKR1B10 play protective roles in endometrioid endometrial cancer and have the potential as prognostic biomarkers. Patients with higher immunohistochemical levels of both AKR1B1 and AKR1B10 showed better survival rates. However, no significant differences were observed in patients with serous endometrial cancer.

Summary: A retrospective analysis was conducted on data from 11,519 patients with G3 EACs to construct a nomogram for decision-making and prognosis prediction. Cox regression analysis identified age, race, tumor size, lymph node resection, stage, and adjuvant therapy as prognostic factors. The nomogram accurately predicted survival rates and will aid clinicians in managing patients more effectively.

Summary: This retrospective cohort study found that the combination of adjuvant chemotherapy and radiation therapy significantly improved overall survival for patients with stage IIIA grade 1 endometrial adenocarcinoma. Additionally, older age, increasing comorbidity count, and lymphovascular space invasion status were significant negative predictors of survival.

Summary: This study found that the overexpression of the HOXA5 gene is associated with poor overall survival in patients with endometrioid adenocarcinoma (EAEC) and is an independent risk factor for poor prognosis in EAEC. The overexpression of HOXA5 is also associated with a higher histological grade of EAEC and TP53 mutation or high copy number of EC. These findings suggest the potential of HOXA5 as a novel biomarker for predicting poor survival outcomes in patients with EAEC.

Summary: This retrospective cohort study assessed the trends, characteristics, and outcomes of pregnancy after bariatric surgery in the United States. The study found a gradual increase in pregnancy after bariatric surgery in recent years. Women with a history of bariatric surgery were more likely to experience severe maternal morbidity and receive blood product transfusion during pregnancy. Rating: 8 out of 10.

Summary: This article summarizes recent studies on the risk factors for the development of malignant endometrial pathology, such as obesity, PCOS, and T2DM. The efficacy of fertility-sparing treatment is discussed, and a potential new adjunct treatment approach is explored. The authors propose a need for personalized treatment and suggest that GLP-1 receptor agonists may play a role in fertility-sparing treatment for obese patients with malignant endometrial pathology.

Summary: This cohort study examined the gender-specific COVID-19 case fatality risks among patients with a malignant neoplasm. The results showed that both gender and malignant neoplasm were associated with increased COVID-19 in-hospital case fatality risk. The study also found that certain types of cancer had a greater than 2-fold increased COVID-19 in-hospital case mortality risk.

Summary: This study investigates the use and survival outcomes of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) in less common histologic subtypes of epithelial ovarian cancer. Summary: The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical relevance of HR-HPV negativity at the time of unsatisfactory cervical cytology. The study found that patients with unsatisfactory cervical cytology and negative HR-HPV testing showed high concordance with negative results on follow-up satisfactory cervical cytology, and had a low risk of CIN 2 or greater.

Summary: This study examined the trends, characteristics, and outcomes related to sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy in early stage ovarian cancer. The study found that SLN biopsy was rarely performed in this population, and there was insufficient evidence to determine its impact on survival. Further research and evaluation are needed to assess the feasibility and oncologic outcomes of SLN biopsy in early ovarian cancer.
