Summary: This study investigates the use of calcium alginate beads with integrated Moringa oleifera seed powder as an alternative adsorbent for removing perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from aqueous systems. The beads exhibit fast adsorption kinetics and a high adsorption capacity for PFAS compounds. Humic acid does not significantly affect the adsorption of PFAS, indicating the potential of the beads as a promising adsorbent for long-chain PFAS removal. The adsorption mechanism is primarily driven by hydrophobic interactions and hydrogen bonding.

Summary: This study focuses on the analysis of triacylglycerol (TAG) composition in Moringa oleifera seed oil (MOSO). A new method combining reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and mass spectrometry was used to identify and determine the TAG compositions. Approximately 13.9% of the TAG compositions in MOSO were still unknown. The new method successfully characterized a total of 33 TAG compositions, with triolein (OOO) being the dominant TAG at 39.3%.

Summary: It was found that triturated Moringa oleifera seeds have components that adsorb recalcitrant indigo carmine dye, and coagulating proteins can be extracted from them. By immobilizing the coagulant protein with metal-organic frameworks, novel biosensors were constructed for detecting and monitoring dye residues in environmental effluents.

Summary: Using a safe and cost-effective flocculant made from locally available Moringa oleifera seeds is necessary to improve water quality in rural areas without traditional water treatment methods. The effectiveness of locally accessible Moringa oleifera seed extract (MOSE) in reducing water turbidity was examined at different turbidity levels. The study found that the de-oiled extract was more efficient than the crude extract in removing colloidal particles, with a removal rate of up to 76%.

Summary: In this study, the biostimulant effect of moringa seed extract (MSE) on cancer bush plants under deficit irrigation was investigated. The results showed that the foliar application of 2% MSE effectively enhanced the growth, yield, and physiological and biochemical attributes of the plants. This study highlights the potential of MSE as a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative for mitigating the negative impact of drought stress on cancer bush plants.

Summary: The molecular architecture and composition of amphiphilic bottlebrush copolymers determine the interfacial relaxation modes and dilatational rheology at oil/water interfaces, affecting the emulsifying efficiency. More hydrophilic copolymers with longer PEO arms showed non-hysteretic stress-strain response and increased modulus with interfacial pressure, making them more efficient emulsifiers than less hydrophilic copolymers with hysteretic interfacial rheology.

Summary: An asymptotic analysis was conducted to derive a macrotransport equation for the long-time transport of a chemotactic/diffusiophoretic colloidal species in a uniform circular tube. The macrotransport equation showed excellent agreement with direct numerical solutions of the advection-diffusion equation for the colloidal species transport. By scaling arguments, three regimes of the colloidal species macrotransport were identified, spanning from chemotactic/diffusiophoretic-dominated transport to the hydrodynamic flow-dominated Taylor dispersion regime.

Summary: This study investigates the synergistic effects on interfacial tension and dilatational moduli of a binary surfactant system with surfactants entering the oil/water interface from opposite sides. The aqueous phase pH was found to have a controlling effect on both interfacial tension and dilatational modulus synergism, attributed to the increased attraction between ionized PA and cationic TTAB at pH 7.

Summary: This study investigates the transport of chemotactic and diffusiophoretic colloids in a circular tube under hydrodynamic flow. Strong hydrodynamic flow reduces the spreading of solute-repelled colloids, while enhancing the spreading of solute-attracted colloids. The study also shows that the spreading phenomena persist for decaying colloids and reveals new regimes of anomalous spreading for chemotactic colloids, which can be tuned by hydrodynamic flows.

Summary: The understanding of how agrochemical nanocarrier properties affect their uptake and translocation in plants is incomplete. Our study found that anionic nanocarriers were transported at a higher rate than cationic nanocarriers in tomato, while only anionic nanocarriers were transported in wheat. These findings provide design parameters for efficient and targeted agrochemical delivery.
