Summary: This study aimed to gain insight into the physical resilience of older adults in order to predict their functional recovery after hospitalization. The findings showed that functional disability increased before hospital admission, but started to decrease from admission to 3 months post discharge. Frailty and dynamic variables were associated with a higher increase in functional disability after acute illness. These findings provide valuable information for predicting functional recovery and improving rehabilitation strategies after acute hospitalization.

Summary: This observational study aims to describe the characteristics of individuals receiving outpatient rehabilitation for post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection (PASC) and examine factors associated with their psychological and cognitive functioning and health-related quality of life. The results show that a significant proportion of COVID-19 survivors seeking care for persistent symptoms experience severe anxiety, severe depression, PTSD, and cognitive impairment. Their health-related quality of life is substantially lower than the general population and persons with other chronic conditions. Disparities in outcomes by race and socioeconomic status are evident, even among those with access to post-acute COVID rehabilitation care.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of psychosocial, psychological, and rehabilitative interventions in an Italian psychiatric inpatient facility, focusing on patients with schizophrenia spectrum and mood disorders. The results showed that patients who actively engaged in psychosocial and rehabilitative interventions had better functioning and lower symptoms at discharge compared to non-participating individuals. The interventions, especially psychotherapy and support groups, were positively correlated with the improvement in patients' functioning.

Summary: A core set for knee dysfunction was proposed, offering a system for disability assessment related to knee dysfunction across all levels of health care. The study identified categories that best explain knee dysfunction and emphasized the importance of including environmental and social factors in assessing functionality. Further analysis of the validity of the core set is necessary.
