Summary: The alloying synergistic flame retardant effect of using PEI and ADP for PA6 was investigated, which can provide PA6 composites with excellent mechanical properties and flame retardancy simultaneously. Adding PEI with PA6 can form PEI-PA6 alloy with nice homogeneous phase, which endows PA6 composites with excellent mechanical properties. The addition of ADP can increase the LOI value and flame retardant rating, reduce the HRR and THR, and increase the char residue rate, showing an excellent flame retardant synergistic effect. ADP works together with PEI to increase the quenching effect in the gas phase and promote thermal stability, while also increasing the char yield in the condensed phase. The alloying flame retardant method using ADP/PEI-PA6 can endow PA6 with better flame retardancy and more excellent mechanical properties.

Summary: This study utilized silicon-containing arylacetylene resins (PSAs) for their excellent thermal stability in high temperature environments, and designed new PSAs with enhanced antioxidant properties and heat resistance by incorporating the target monomer 3,6-diethynylcarbazole (DEC). The resulting silicon-containing carbazolylacetylene resins (PSA-VBC) exhibited lower initial curing temperature and excellent heat resistance, with increased oxidation decomposition temperature and decreased oxygen content in the solidified oxide, showing superior oxidation resistance.

Summary: This study focuses on the synthesis of sulfonated amine block copolymers and their impact on the morphology and transport properties of polymeric membranes for chemical protective clothing (CPC). The copolymers were prepared using specific monomers and sulfonated by chemical grafting. Various characterization techniques were used to analyze the changes in the membranes. The results show that the synthesized copolymers lacked phase segregation due to low sulfonation, leading to a low water/DMMP selectivity. Blended membranes with sulfonated poly(styrene-isobutylene-styrene) (SIBS) improved breathability and achieved the desired water vapor transport rate limit.

Summary: Composite fibers of bismuth telluride with polyaniline and polyvinylpyrrolidone were synthesized via electrospinning. The morphology and surface morphology of the fibers were studied using scanning electron microscopy. The X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy confirmed the increase in crystalline phase and revealed the influence of functional groups. The thermogravimetric analysis and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy showed the thermal stability and decreased bandgap of the composite fibers.

Summary: This study introduced a method for calculating resin content using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) for carbon fiber/ poly (ether ether ketone) (CF/PEEK) composites. The TGA curves and DTG curves were divided into four stages, and the resin content was accurately obtained from the transitional stage and stable stage. Results compared with other methods showed that the TGA method was suitable for resin fraction calculation with slight difference.

Summary: The study presents a reversible cyclic-linear topological transformation of poly(epsilon-caprolactone) facilitated by a long-range rotaxane switch. The linear polymer is fixed by a protonated tert-amine/crown ether interaction at the center of the polymer chain and can be reversibly transformed into a cyclic polymer fixed by urethane linkage/crown ether interaction at the polymer end upon neutralization/acidification of the tert-amine moiety.

Summary: A novel eco-friendly form-stable phase change material was developed by modifying rough rice husk ash (rRHA) with an ultrasonic hydrochloric acid treatment to improve pore structure. The modified RHA (mRHA) showed optimized pore structures, leading to better filling of PEG and higher latent heat. The application of FHH theory helped characterize the surface complexities of RHA, resulting in improved crystallization behaviors.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of different micro and nano AlN fillers on the electrical performances and thermal properties of hybrid composites at high temperatures. The results show that nano-fillers enhance the electrical performances but decrease the apparent mobility and activation energy of the composites. Additionally, a hypothetical mechanism is proposed to explain the charge carrier injection and transport of the composites at different temperatures.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and graphene platelets (GPLs) on the characteristics of carbon/basalt fiber reinforced intra-ply hybrid composites. The results show that the addition of carbon-based nanoparticles improves the properties of the composites, and the response of the composites is directly proportional to the addition ratio of the carbon-based nanoparticles.
