Summary: An alkaliphilic actinobacterial strain, Hz 6-5(T), isolated from saline-alkaline soil in northeastern China, showed optimal growth conditions at 33 degrees C, pH 9.0, and in the presence of 0.5% NaCl or 3% KCl. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed the strain to be a novel species of the genus Nesterenkonia.

Summary: Two Gram-stain-positive, aerobic, endospore-forming bacterial strains (JJ-7T and JJ-60T) isolated from the rhizosphere of Zea mays were classified as members of the genus Paenibacillus based on 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity comparisons. Both strains represented novel species (Paenibacillus auburnensis sp. nov. and Paenibacillus pseudetheri sp. nov.) within the genus Paenibacillus. Genomic comparisons and polar lipid profiles supported the taxonomic allocation, and physiological and biochemical characteristics further differentiated the strains from closely related species.

Summary: In this study, a novel bacterial strain MBLB1776(T) was isolated from marine mud in Uljin, the Republic of Korea. The strain was identified as a new species within the genus Paenibacillus, named Paenibacillus aurantius sp. nov. It was found that MBLB1776(T) produced carotenoid pigments, giving the cells an orange color.

Summary: A new bacterial strain, JJ-447(T), isolated from the rhizosphere of Zea mays, was identified as a novel species of the genus Paenibacillus, named Paenibacillus allorhizosphaerae sp. nov. The taxonomic assignment was confirmed through 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity comparisons, DNA-DNA hybridization, average nucleotide identity, and lipid analysis.

Summary: Exploration of novel Paenibacillus species with plant growth-promoting characteristics in low-temperature environments is important for the development of cold-tolerant biofertilizers in forestry and agriculture. Three strains isolated from root endophytes of Larix gmelinii showed plant growth-promoting properties, such as phosphate solubilization, indole-3-acetic acid biosynthesis, and siderophore production at low temperatures. Pairwise sequence analysis of the 16S rRNA genes revealed that the strains represent putatively novel taxa within the genus Paenibacillus. The strains have typical chemotaxonomic characteristics of the genus Paenibacillus and their genomes vary in size and G+C content.

Summary: A novel strain of Gram-stain positive, aerobic, endospore-forming bacteria (JJ-246(T)) was isolated from the rhizosphere of Zea mays. It is proposed as a new species of the genus Paenibacillus, named Paenibacillus plantiphilus sp. nov., with JJ-246(T) as the type strain. The genome of JJ-246(T) showed similarities to known Paenibacillus strains, but with distinct functional genes related to plant-beneficial traits.

Summary: A novel endospore-forming bacterium strain KQZ6P-2T was isolated from the surface-sterilized bark of the mangrove plant Kandelia candel in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. The strain could grow in the presence of NaCl concentrations ranging from 0 to 3% (w/v), with optimal growth at 0-1% (w/v) NaCl. It also exhibited growth at temperatures of 20-42 degrees C and pH levels of 5.5-6.5.
