Summary: In this research, aromatic sulfonamide-derived ethyl ester and its acyl hydrazide were synthesized and used as prospective anticorrosive agents to protect mild steel. The corrosion efficiency was investigated using electrochemical methods, and it was found that both the hydrazide and ester showed excellent corrosion inhibition. The study also revealed the electron transfer mechanism at the inhibitor/metal interface. The theoretical calculations provided insights into the charge redistribution and showed a good correlation with the experimental results.

Summary: Two azole-based Schiff bases, TIB and BTP, are synthesized as inhibitors for mild steel in acidic medium. The inhibitive effect is studied using weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization, and electrochemical impedance measurements. The maximum inhibition efficiencies of TIB and BTP are approximately 83% and 81%, respectively, and they behave as mixed-type inhibitors. The protective layer formed on the metal surface is confirmed through SEM, EDX, and atomic force microscopic study.

Summary: A new rigid double Schiff base of PBPM was synthesized and evaluated as a corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in 1.0 mol L-1 HCl medium. The results showed that PBPM exhibited high inhibition efficiency and acted as a mixed-type corrosion inhibitor. The adsorption of PBPM on mild steel surfaces followed Langmuir adsorption isotherm, and a protective film was formed. DFT calculations and Fukui functions revealed the influence of PBPM's molecular configuration on its corrosion inhibition behavior.

Summary: Twelve schiff base metal complexes were synthesized and studied for their application in adsorption desulfurization. The schiff base metal complex of melamine and cobalt showed the best adsorption performance. Characterization and analysis of the complex revealed a maximum adsorption capacity of 21.66 mg/g for DBT, and the adsorption capacity remained stable even after being reused for 5 times. The adsorption process followed the Freundlich adsorption isothermal model and the pseudo-second-order model kinetics. In addition, the adsorbent demonstrated different removal efficiencies for various sulfides, with dibenzothiophene showing the highest removal efficiency.

Summary: Crosslinking affects the mechanical behavior and tissue metabolism of collagen-based tissues. Aging and diabetes alter the crosslinking type and density, thus changing tissue properties. High-connectivity enzymatic crosslinking and advanced-glycation end-products result in uniform deformation under daily activity, while low-connectivity enzymatic crosslinking does not. High-connectivity model displays more sliding, while AGEs induce instability in structures near the binding sites.

Summary: The potential of multi-layer nanoemulsions for improving the cellular uptake, antioxidant activity, and in vitro bioaccessibility of alpha-tocopherol was examined. The results showed that the multi-layer nanoemulsions significantly enhanced the cellular uptake and antioxidant activity of alpha-tocopherol compared to free coumarin 6. Furthermore, the use of chitosan and dextran sulfate as wall materials in the multi-layer nanoemulsions led to even higher cellular uptake, in vitro bioaccessibility, and antioxidant activity of alpha-tocopherol.
