Kerin Robinson

Summary: This article highlights the potential risks associated with the collection and interpretation of 'big' health data, focusing on a study investigating the use of hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine for COVID-19 treatment. It emphasizes the pitfalls that researchers may face in multi-country studies and the importance of considering country-specific factors like data items, ethical constraints, and health classification systems. The inclusion of a Health Information Manager in research teams and ethics committees is suggested as a way to prevent potential problems in research.
