Summary: The study aimed to develop an AI-ECG system to predict BNP/pBNP values in patients with cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and compare their values for future mortality. The results showed that the AI-ECG accurately predicted BNP/pBNP values, and pBNP was a better predictor of future mortality.

Summary: B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) and N-terminal pro-BNP (NT-pro BNP) are cardiac biomarkers released in response to increased ventricular and atrial wall stress. Studies have shown that elevated levels of these biomarkers are correlated with the severity of aortic stenosis (AS) and can predict the need for intervention. They play a crucial role in risk stratification and predicting cardiovascular outcomes of patients with severe AS. This paper aims to summarize the evidence of the role of BNP and NT-pro BNP in AS, before and after intervention.

Summary: The study found that NT-proBNP testing was not frequently performed in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) in US clinical practice, and the concentrations varied across different data sources and subgroups within HFrEF.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the potential of NT-proBNP as a marker for AF screening efficacy and stroke prevention. The results showed that in individuals over 70 years old with additional stroke risk factors, ILR screening was associated with a significant reduction in stroke risk among those with higher NT-proBNP levels.

Summary: The study found that higher serum NT-proBNP levels were associated with increased risks of developing chronic kidney disease (CKD) and a more rapid decline in estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR). In the general Japanese population, serum NT-proBNP could serve as a useful biomarker for assessing the future risk of CKD.

Summary: NT-proBNP is associated with cardiovascular damage in SLE patients and could serve as a biomarker for cardiovascular damage. NT-proBNP levels are associated with hypertension, dyslipidemia, age, smoking history, reduced eGFR, prior pericarditis/pleuritis, and aPL antibodies.

Summary: The study investigated the relationship between age, sex, obesity, and NT-proBNP levels, finding that NT-proBNP levels were higher in females compared to males and increased with older age. Strong inverse associations between waist circumference, body mass index, and NT-proBNP were observed in females, with a weaker association in males and a significant difference between the sexes. Abdominal obesity was associated with lower NT-proBNP levels in females but not males after adjusting for the effects of waist circumference and body mass index on each other. Further comprehensive studies are needed to understand the factors affecting NT-proBNP levels in different populations.
