Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effect of Mg doping on the characteristics and antibacterial properties of CuO nanoparticles (NPs). Mg-doped CuO NPs were fabricated by co-precipitation, and characterization techniques including XRD, TEM, EDX, FTIR, and PL were used. The results showed that Mg doping affected the morphology and agglomeration of the NPs, and induced shifts in the Cu-O bond. The undoped and Mg-doped CuO NPs exhibited significant antibacterial capacities against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, highlighting their potential as antibacterial agents.

Summary: A simple route was introduced for the preparation of crystalline gold nanoparticles in the size range of 4 to 22 nm using carboxymethyl cellulose sodium salt and citrate salt as stabilizers. The Au/CMC nanoparticles showed promising anti-proliferative activity against ovarian cancer and triple-negative breast cancer cell lines. The nanoparticles stabilized by citrate ions exhibited superior anticancer activity compared to standard drug cisplatin and induced morphological changes in the cancer cell lines. Further investigation using a wider range of cancer cell lines and animal models is needed to explore the potential anticancer activity of Au/CMC.

Summary: In this study, clove oil nanoemulsion (CL-nanoemulsion) and emulsion (CL-emulsion) were prepared using an ecofriendly method. The CL-nanoemulsion showed antibacterial, antifungal, anti-biofilm, and anticancer properties, with minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) values between 0.31 and 5 mg/mL against bacteria and significant antifungal activity against various fungal strains. The CL-nanoemulsion also exhibited lower IC50 values in MCF-7 breast cancer cells compared to CL-emulsion, indicating its potential as an anticancer agent.

Summary: In this study, zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) were successfully synthesized using Cocos nucifera leaf extract and their antimicrobial, antioxidant, and photocatalytic activities were investigated. The NPs exhibited a hexagonal wurtzite structure with an average particle size of 16.6 nm. The NPs showed antimicrobial activity against T. harzianum and S. aureus, and demonstrated effective photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue dye. The prepared ZnO NPs could be potentially used in antibiotic development and pharmaceutical industries.

Summary: The nano-emulsion of cinnamon bark oil (CBON) was formulated and investigated for stability and antimicrobial properties. The droplet size and PDI of the CBO were found to be influenced by HLB value, treatment time, and smix concentration. CBON was found to be more efficient in inhibiting and inactivating microorganisms than the crude CBO, with S. cerevisiae being the most sensitive followed by E. coli and S. aureus.
