Summary: This article describes the development of an innovative baccalaureate nursing education strategy for public health nursing, using virtual simulation pedagogy. Three Canadian nursing schools, along with the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN) and the Canadian Alliance of Nurse Educators using Simulation (CAN-Sim), collaborated to create three public health nursing virtual simulation games. These games aim to enhance clinical reasoning and promote collaborative, community decision-making skills for entry level public health nursing competencies. Additionally, a companion guide was developed to support best practices in implementing virtual simulation for optimum student learning using the public health nursing games.

Summary: Pre-frailty is a multidimensional risk state along the frailty continuum, potentially leading to frailty development, with factors including physical impairment, cognitive decline, nutritional deficiencies and socioeconomic disadvantages. Experts agree that pre-frailty is an age-associated, multi-factorial, multi-dimensional and non-linear process that does not inevitably lead to frailty, and targeted interventions can reverse or attenuate its development.
