Summary: This study aims to determine the feasibility of a remote patient monitoring (RPM) protocol in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. The study utilizes a technology-enhanced outpatient symptom management system that allows patients to self-report symptoms and vital signs, access self-care materials, and engage in videoconferencing. The study will evaluate recruitment, protocol adherence, patient retention, RPM platform usability, and the perceived effectiveness of the intervention.

Summary: This systematic review examined the effectiveness of nurse-led telehealth symptom management interventions for patients with cancer. The results showed that compared to usual care, telehealth interventions led by nurses can reduce symptom severity and have no difference in health service use. However, more research is needed in this field to clarify intervention characteristics and consistently measure outcomes.

Summary: This paper investigates how choice influences information gathering and finds that participants are more likely to sample information from a previously chosen alternative. The higher the confidence in the initial choice, the more biased the information sampling becomes. This phenomenon is controlled by agency and has a critical impact on the decision process.

Summary: Routine collection of ePROs prior to consultations can improve clinical care, but a low response rate may limit its benefits. This study found that patients between 55 and 73 years of age and with higher socio-economic status were more likely to complete the ePROs, while patients living in urban areas had lower odds.

Summary: The study found that women being treated for breast cancer reported moderate to severe symptoms in the week prior to clinic visits, but these symptoms were not consistently discussed during the visits. The results indicate a need for more attention to be given to eliciting symptoms from older women experiencing symptoms during treatment, and suggest that symptoms should be discussed continuously throughout the duration of chemotherapy.

Summary: This study identified common symptoms experienced by patients receiving CAR T-cell therapy, with pain being the most common disease-related symptom and fatigue, lack of appetite, headache, chills or feeling cold, and feeling confused being common symptoms related to CAR T-cell therapy. Symptoms interfere with daily activities, work, relationships, mood, and enjoyment of life. Oncology nurses should be aware of and assess symptoms related to CAR T-cell therapy to provide appropriate care.

Summary: This study aims to identify the parenting-related intervention needs and delivery preferences of advanced cancer patients and their spouses/co-parents. The results showed that family distress and marital distress were common, and patients and spouses had high concerns about parenting. Qualitative interviews revealed needs related to family routines, childcare, transportation, meals, home maintenance, and finances. Most patients and spouses preferred parenting-related education/services, with some preferring self-led readings or counseling sessions.
