Summary: The built environment plays a crucial role in the society and contributes significantly to global energy demand and greenhouse gas emissions. Achieving sustainability in the building and construction industry is essential for a sustainable carbon-neutral built environment. The paper proposes a quantitative evaluation approach based on Life Cycle Assessment to assess the role of buildings in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their targets. This approach can serve as a foundation for a comprehensive and scientifically-based method to assess and improve the impact of buildings on SDGs.

Summary: The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN-SDGs) offer a unique opportunity to achieve sustainable development and mitigate the impacts of climate change. Decarbonizing the energy system is crucial for achieving energy balance, and green hydrogen has emerged as a promising source in this regard. Therefore, understanding the different production methods, economics, and environmental impacts of green hydrogen is essential for all stakeholders. Additionally, recognizing the role of green hydrogen in achieving the various SDGs is vital for policymakers and decision-makers. This study reviews common hydrogen production methods, investigates the prospects of achieving the SDGs, and presents relevant keywords. Furthermore, it provides a list of indicators (guidelines) to enhance the contribution of green hydrogen to the SDGs and minimize trade-offs.
