Summary: This study conducted a meta-analysis of multiple case-control studies and found that the polymorphism at the rs1871054 site of the ADAM12 gene is associated with genetic susceptibility to osteoarthritis, while the polymorphisms at the rs3740199, rs1044122, and rs1278279 sites are not significantly related to osteoarthritis.

Summary: Adipokines gene polymorphisms may be associated with knee osteoarthritis, particularly LEPR rs1137101, ADIPOQ rs2241766, VISFATIN rs4730153, and VISFATIN rs16872158 polymorphisms, in the Asian population.

Summary: This systematic review and network meta-analysis aimed to determine the association between SNPs and OC risk. Fok1 rs2228570 was found to be closely linked to OC risk, and the dominant gene model was determined to be the most appropriate model for estimating OC susceptibility.

Summary: The presence of a polymorphism of eight or more SHBG (TAAAA)n may be a predictive factor for the risk of PCOS, as it is associated with PCOS risk and low serum SHBG concentrations in women with PCOS. Other SHBG gene polymorphisms were not significantly associated with either PCOS risk or serum SHBG concentrations.

Summary: In this study, the relationship between SLC6A11 and GABRG2 genes and drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE) was systematically assessed. The results showed that there was no significant correlation between SLC6A11 rs2304725 and GABRG2 rs211037 and DRE, except for the over-dominant model where rs2304725 was significantly correlated with DRE. Moreover, rs211037 conveyed a genetic risk for DRE in an Asian population in the allele, dominant, and additive models.

Summary: The meta-analysis revealed a significant association between SNPs rs2295080, rs17036508, and rs1034528 in the mTOR gene and cancer risk, while target genetic polymorphisms in the mLST8 gene or RPTOR gene may not be associated with cancer risk. Further large-scale and well-designed studies in different ethnic populations are needed to confirm or strengthen these findings.

Summary: This study investigated the association between toll-like receptor (TLR) 3/7 gene polymorphisms and HCV infection. The results showed no significant association between rs3775290 gene polymorphism and HCV infection, but individuals with homozygous rs179008-T alleles had a higher risk of HCV infection, particularly in African populations.

Summary: This study conducted a meta-analysis and systematic review to investigate the associations between IL-1 single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and knee osteoarthritis (OA). The results showed that certain alleles and genotypes in the IL-1 gene cluster, particularly IL-1RN, are associated with the risk of knee OA. However, the associations of other genetic variations in the IL-1 region with knee OA remain conflicting.

Summary: This meta-analysis study found an association between IFNGR1 gene polymorphisms and tuberculosis susceptibility. The rs2234711 polymorphism was associated with increased tuberculosis susceptibility in Africans and decreased susceptibility in Asians. Additionally, the rs7749390 polymorphism was associated with decreased tuberculosis susceptibility in Africans.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate the relationship between MMP13 rs3819089, ADAM12 rs3740199, rs1871054, and ADAMTS14 rs4747096 genotypes in patients with knee osteoarthritis (OA). The results suggest that these gene polymorphisms have no association with knee OA susceptibility in the Turkish population. This study contributes to understanding the molecular bases of OA in the Turkish population.
