Summary: This cross-sectional study aimed to investigate the factors influencing health literacy in patients with coronary artery disease. The results showed an inverse and significant relationship between age and hypertension with health literacy, while higher education and employment status were associated with higher scores on the health literacy instrument. Disease-specific knowledge did not influence health literacy. The regression model variables explained 55.3% of inadequate health literacy. Based on these findings, the study suggests considering sociodemographic and clinical factors when planning interventions.

Summary: We present two cases of stage 3A unilateral Coats' disease in pediatric patients. Disease control was achieved using a dexamethasone intravitreal implant along with other treatments. The treatment improved visual acuity in one patient and prevented further decline in visual acuity in the other patient during 7 and years of follow-up, respectively. One patient experienced an increase in intraocular pressure, which was managed with topical medication, but also developed a cataract requiring surgery. In conclusion, the dexamethasone intravitreal implant may be a beneficial adjuvant treatment option for pediatric Coats' disease.
