Summary: This study evaluated the risk of myasthenia gravis (MG) associated with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) and identified correlations between six drugs and three adverse events through analysis of FAERS data. The findings suggest that ICIs may lead to ICIs-associated MG during therapy. Practitioners should consider the factors that may increase the likelihood of MG.

Summary: The study found that hemorrhage was the most common clinical manifestation of serious adverse drug reactions resulting from drug-drug interactions reported in France, followed by renal failure, pharmacokinetic alteration, and cardiac arrhythmias. More than one-third of serious adverse drug reactions involved at least three drugs.

Summary: The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has accelerated procedures and relaxed authorization requirements to provide access to innovative medicines for diseases with unmet medical needs. However, this has led to increased uncertainty about the efficacy and safety of these medicines, which has implications for clinical practice and pricing negotiations. Balancing timely access to new treatments with evidence-based decision-making and fair pricing is crucial but challenging. Rating: 7/10.

Summary: The increase in access to oncological medicines through court cases raises concerns about the constitutional guarantees of integral and universal care in the Brazilian public health system. The study found that women accounted for a significant portion of the lawsuits, with most cases filed by individuals over 55 years old with low income. Non-official oncological medicines were the most frequently requested drugs.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the association between life quality based on the Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) evaluation and disease severity among psoriasis patients in China. The study found that life quality based on DLQI evaluation was positively correlated with disease severity, especially among male patients and those with higher body mass index (BMI). Therefore, it is recommended that clinicians consider DLQI evaluation as an important indicator during patient treatment.

Summary: This study developed an experimental value set for the Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) by examining the relationship between time trade-off (TTO) utility valuations and DLQI severity levels characterizing dermatologically relevant health states. The study found that the social/interpersonal consequences of skin conditions had a larger impact on valuations compared to the physical/practical aspects, and there was significant heterogeneity across DLQI items.

Summary: This article reviewed the burden of adverse drug reactions (ADR) among drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) patients and its impact on quality of life (QoL) and adherence to therapy. Findings indicated that ADR could lead to decreased QoL in patients, but did not always result in treatment non-adherence. Comprehensive support from family, community, and healthcare providers is crucial in helping patients cope with the burden of ADR.

Summary: Histone modifications play a role in cancer initiation and progression, and targeting these proteins has potential therapeutic value. This review summarizes the development and prospects of histone methyltransferase (HMT) inhibitors in cancer therapy. Several HMT inhibitors have shown significant anti-tumor effects in clinical studies, with tazemetostat being the most advanced in follicular lymphoma treatment. The use of HMT inhibitors has produced promising results in hematological cancers with manageable adverse effects. Ongoing clinical studies suggest a hopeful future for HMT inhibitors in treating different types of cancer.

Summary: This study aims to develop evidence-based indicators for detecting potential drug-related problems in ovarian cancer patients. The feasibility test identified 130 out of 200 indicators and classified the DRPs into four main categories: drug selection problem, drug use problem, adverse drug reaction, and drug-drug interaction. The indicators effectively identified pDRPs and can potentially help healthcare professionals in the early detection and management of DRPs.

Summary: The prevalence of hazardous drug-drug interactions (DDIs) related to oral antineoplastic agents (OAAs) appears to be low in cancer patients. However, physicians and clinical pharmacologists should be aware of the potential hazardous DDIs when prescribing OAAs, especially certain pH-dependent molecular targeted agents and drugs that can prolong QTc interval.
