Summary: Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (CSCC) is a skin cancer that evolves from normal epidermis and is characterized by the disruption of cell-cell contacts and acquisition of a mesenchymal motile phenotype. The decreased expression of miR-199a-3p plays a crucial role in this process by targeting RAP2B and inhibiting the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT). Inhibitors of RAP2B or FAK may be potential therapeutic agents for CSCC.

Summary: This study investigates the role of miR-20 in promoting osteogenic differentiation in BMSCs and accelerating bone formation in a rabbit maxillary sinus bone defect model. Overexpression of miR-20a increased the levels of osteogenic markers and enhanced calcified nodule deposition in BMSCs, while anti-miR-20a treatment had the opposite effect. In the rabbit model, miR-20a delivery significantly improved bone density, osteoblast numbers, and collagen type 1 secretion compared to Bio-Oss bone powder.

CSCs play a crucial role in tumor growth, therapy resistance, and cancer metastasis. Strategies targeting CSCs are being developed for novel anti-metastasis treatments, aiming to improve therapeutic efficiency and prognosis with fewer side effects.
