Summary: Circular RNA circRAB3IP is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, promoting tumor cell growth and migration. By modulating the miR-580-3p/TWIST1 axis, circRAB3IP acts as an oncogene in the development of osteosarcoma.

Summary: This study investigates the potential of miR-29b to suppress osteosarcoma tumors and normalize bone dysregulation caused by the tumor. The delivery of miR-29b along with systemic chemotherapy significantly decreases tumor burden, increases mouse survival, and decreases osteolysis, thereby normalizing bone homeostasis.

Summary: In this study, miR-218, miR-132, and miR-143 were identified as significantly up-regulated miRNAs in both circulating MVs and plasma from diabetic patients with dyslipidemia. These miRNAs showed significant correlations with important plasma markers representative of this pathology.

Summary: Osteosarcoma is a rare but highly deadly cancer, especially among children and adolescents. The discovery of miRNAs holds potential for earlier diagnosis, prognosis prediction, and development of new therapies for various types of tumors, including OS. The number of clinical trials involving miRNAs as prognostic and diagnostic biomarkers, as well as therapeutic targets, is likely to increase in the near future.

Summary: Stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD) is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths globally, and metastasis and drug resistance are major challenges in its treatment. This study found that the upregulation of Rab31 protein in human STAD tissues is associated with poor survival. Rab31 was also found to promote cisplatin resistance and metastasis in STAD cells. Further investigation uncovered that Rab31 mediates drug resistance and metastasis through the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) pathway.

Summary: Metformin enhances the sensitivity of osteosarcoma cells to cytotoxic agents by modulating the IGF-1R/miR-610/FEN1 signaling pathway. The aberrant expression of IGF-1R, miR-610, and FEN1 in osteosarcoma cells is involved in apoptosis modulation, which is diminished by metformin treatment. Through reducing IGF-1R and FEN1 expression while increasing miR-610 expression, metformin sensitizes osteosarcoma cells to cytotoxic agents.

Summary: ITGB3 is identified as a potential regulator of tumorigenicity and cisplatin resistance in relapsed osteosarcoma. Knockout of ITGB3 decreases osteosarcoma cell proliferation and migration ability, leading to increased apoptosis and slowed cell cycle progression. ITGB3 performs its functions through the MAPK and VEGF signaling pathways.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate the relationship between microRNA expression levels, endoplasmic reticulum stress, apoptosis, and oxidative stress markers in hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury. The results showed that liver IR injury led to significantly higher levels of ER stress, oxidative stress, and apoptosis gene expression, with miR-221, miR-190b, miR-363-3p, and miR-200c potentially serving as biomarkers for hepatic IR injury.
