Summary: This study compared a standard quality of care definition with one based on FANC guidelines, finding that adjusting for service frequency significantly decreased the percentage of women receiving good quality care. The number of ANC visits, care during the first trimester, and maternal age were associated with a greater likelihood of receiving good quality ANC.

Summary: This article introduces the role of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community-Controlled Health Services (ACCHS) in addressing the specific needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations in Australia. The Patient-Centred Medical Homes (PCMH) model is an adaptive primary healthcare model, but there is insufficient evidence on its implementation and effectiveness for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations in large urban settings. The study will compare standard care and an adapted PCMH model of care, and examine their impact on access to care, quality of care, health outcomes, and economic costs.

Summary: This study investigated the proportion and factors associated with key antenatal care (ANC) services in western Nepal. The findings suggest that despite a high proportion of ANC attendance, a significant number of mothers initiated ANC late and received suboptimal care. Therefore, there is a need to provide tailor-made ANC services for the Madhesi ethnic community and women from poor and less educated backgrounds to reduce inequalities in maternal health care.

Summary: This study examined the implementation of the telemedicine device Consult Station in areas with a low density of medical services and evaluated its contribution to health care pathways. The results showed that Consult Station was mainly used by younger women for low-severity seasonal infections, while consultations for hypertension, diabetes, and preventive medicine were less common. The implementation of Consult Station could address the challenge of medical deserts and potentially reduce work absenteeism.
