Summary: A new p-terphenyl compound, 2',3'-diacetoxy-4,5,5',6',4'',5''-hexahydroxy-p-terphenyl (1), along with 12 known compounds, was isolated from the fruiting bodies of Sarcodon imbricatus (Bankeraceae). The new compound exhibited weak cytotoxicity against colon cancer SW480 and leukemia HL-60 cell lines.

Summary: Four new 26-carboxylated ergostane-type sterols were isolated from Sarcodon imbricatus. One of these sterols, sarcodonol D, showed significant antiviral activity and reduced virus-induced apoptosis by regulating mitochondrial stress. This study suggests that sarcodonol D is a potential candidate for antiviral treatment.

Summary: This study evaluated the immune-enhancing effect of ginger polysaccharides UGP1 and UGP2 on CTX-induced immunosuppressed mice. The results showed that ginger polysaccharides can alleviate the symptoms of weight loss and dietary intake reduction, increase fecal water content, protect immune organs, stimulate the secretion of cytokines and immunoglobulins, restore short-chain fatty acids levels in the intestine, and modulate gut microbiota associated with immune function. These findings suggest that ginger polysaccharides have the potential to be used as functional food ingredients or natural medicine for the treatment of intestinal barrier injury.

Summary: This study investigated the antioxidative and immune-boosting properties of the hydroalcoholic extract of Brassica nigra sprouts in rats with cyclophosphamide-induced immunosuppression. The results showed that the sprouts contained increasing levels of bioactive compounds and exhibited antioxidant activity during the sprouting period. In a rat model, dosing with the extract improved antioxidative stress and immune parameters in a dose-dependent manner. This suggests that mustard seed extracts have immunosuppressive properties against cyclophosphamide-induced immunosuppression.

Summary: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of condensed Fuzheng extract (CFE) on immunosuppression. The results showed that CFE improved immune system organ function, stimulated immune cell activity, and increased the levels of immunoglobulins and cytokines. Therefore, CFE effectively alleviated immunosuppression and enhanced the immune functions of mice.

Summary: Using a mouse model of TNBC, researchers found that dietary administration of quercetin enhanced the antitumor effects of Cyclophosphamide, a cytotoxic drug used in TNBC treatment. Quercetin modified the host's fecal microbiome and increased the frequency of T cells and NK cells, while reducing the frequency of Treg. Overall, this study suggests that microbiota-centered dietary intervention can overcome resistance to chemoimmunotherapy in TNBC.

Summary: This study evaluated the effects of Atractylodes lancea rhizome polysaccharide (ALP) on intestinal mucosal barrier and mucosal immunity in immunosuppressed mice. The results showed that ALP effectively enhanced immune organ index and blood cell count, stimulated cytokine secretion, and promoted the expression of key proteins involved in intestinal barrier function and T cells. ALP also improved gut microbiota imbalance and metabolic disorders, increasing the abundance of beneficial bacteria and short-chain fatty acids. This study provides a theoretical basis for the protective effects of ALP on intestinal health and immune function.
