Objectives: To explore the experiences regarding aquatic physiotherapy among parents of children with cerebral palsy and to identify a list of relevant intervention categories for aquatic physiotherapy treatments. Methods: We conducted semi-structured interviews and focus groups using the components of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) as a frame of reference to explore and code experiences regarding aquatic physiotherapy. A non-probabilistic purposive sampling strategy was used. Content analysis methods and ICF linking processes were used to analyze data. Results: From the parents' perspective (n=34), both the Body Functions and Activities and Participation components were mainly influenced by aquatic physiotherapy. Also, parents described Environmental Factors acting as barriers affecting progress during therapy. Conclusions: Parents identified a wide range of categories influenced by aquatic physiotherapy. Social and contextual aspects were highlighted, as well as a series of changes related to the illness as a result of treatment.

Path Analysis Models Integrating Psychological, Psycho-physical and Clinical Variables in Individuals With Tension-Type Headache

Bernard X. W. Liew, Maria Palacios-Cena, Marco Scutari, Stella Fuensalida-Novo, Angel Guerrero-Peral, Carlos Ordas-Bandera, Juan A. Pareja, Cesar Fernandez-de-las-Penas

Summary: Tension type headache (TTH) is a prevalent but poorly understood pain disease. A theoretical model proposes a relationship where psycho-physical and psychological factors result in clinical manifestations of headache and ultimately affect disability. A data-driven model proposes a more complex relationship where poor sleep, psychological factors, and the number of years with pain takes more relevance at influencing disability.

Real-world experience of OnabotulinumtoxinA treatment in female patients with chronic migraine: a qualitative study using in-depth interviews

Domingo Palacios-Cena, Carlos Ordas-Bandera, Javier Casas-Limon, Jorge Perez-Corrales, Javier Gueita-Rodriguez, Jose A. Arias-Navalon, Maria-Luz Cuadrado

Summary: This qualitative study aimed to describe the experiences of women with chronic migraine treated with OBT-A. It found that women experienced treatment failures before OBT-A, had unrealistically high expectations, and felt fear and discomfort during the treatment. However, they reported better migraine control and improved quality of life with OBT-A. Follow-up had barriers but also strengths such as effectiveness and few side effects.

Domingo Palacios-Cena, Javier Gueita-Rodriguez, Antonio Gil-Nagel, Carmen Jimenez-Antona, Cristina Garcia-Bravo, Juan Francisco Velarde-Garcia, Juan Nicolas Cuenca-Zaldivar, Angel Aledo-Serrano

Summary: This study aims to describe the experiences and healthcare needs of parents of children with epilepsy and developmental encephalopathies caused by SCN1A, KCNQ2, CDKL5, PCDH19, and GNAO1 variants. The results show that managing symptoms is challenging and uncertain, medication decisions rest on parents, and the therapeutic relationship and healthcare experience can be influenced by healthcare professionals. Urgent care services should better understand EEDs, support parents, and improve treatment for children.

Summary: This study explored two different graph methods to visualize the prevalence of self-reported post-COVID anosmia and ageusia in a large sample of previously hospitalized individuals. The results showed that the prevalence of anosmia and ageusia decreased in the years following hospitalization, with the female sex and asthma being associated with the development of anosmia. These findings highlight the importance of post-COVID anosmia.

Summary: This study synthesized current evidence on prognostic factors for predicting postoperative pain after knee or hip replacement. The findings suggest that various preoperative factors, including race, opioid use, preoperative function, neuropathic pain symptoms, and anxiety, are associated with postoperative chronic pain. Additionally, certain comorbidities, such as heart disease and lung disease, are not associated with postoperative chronic pain.

Summary: The study aimed to determine the minimal clinically important difference (MCID) for the EuroQol-5D questionnaire (EQ-5D-5L) and visual analogic scale (VAS) in individuals with long-term post-COVID-19 symptoms. The results showed that a change of at least 0.262 and 7.5 for the EQ-5D-5L index and VAS represented the MCID, respectively. Only the EQ-5D-5L VAS showed acceptable discrimination between individuals classified as improved and those classified as stable/not improved.
