Summary: The integration of renewable energy into energy grids along with green technologies has become crucial for achieving the goal of limiting global temperature rise to 2 degrees Celsius. However, there is limited research on the optimal design and operation of integrated energy grids considering weather intermittency and demand uncertainty. This study proposes a multi-period mixed-integer linear programming model to address these challenges and comprehensively analyze the intermittent nature of renewable resources.

Summary: This research aimed to analyze the energy consumption of an nZEB restaurant in a typical city to anticipate tourist numbers. The restaurant's energy comes from solar panels and electricity grids, with hydrogen storage used to store excess energy. The Fanger model was used to assess passenger thermal comfort, while Trnsys software evaluated the transient performance of the nZEB throughout a year. PV panels supplied most of the restaurant's electricity, and hydrogen tanks stored excess electricity. Solar collectors generated hot water and a heat pump provided cooling and heating. The results demonstrated the effectiveness of utilizing ZEB on the building roof area to reduce Doha's greenhouse gas emissions significantly.

Summary: The EU Renewable Energy Directive has allowed local citizens and authorities to participate in collective renewable energy projects through Renewable Energy Communities (REC). This study proposes an optimization model to support REC's investment decisions on renewable generation and electricity sharing management. The model considers annualized investment optimization, and a case study with three REC members is presented, discussing the results using levelized cost of electricity and marginal realized price concepts, as well as performing a sensitivity analysis for solar and wind resources.

Summary: A major goal of the SE4ALL Initiative is to improve energy efficiency through an energy mix. This study proposes a methodology for estimating the required power from flare gas using directional distance DEA model. The results show that an optimal energy mix for Venezuela includes 40% gas-based power and 60% renewable energy, which can meet the nation's energy shortage more than three times over.
