Summary: Flavonoids, particularly fisetin, have been found to modulate bone formation process and counteract tumor growth, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis. Fisetin supplementation has shown to promote bone formation and mineralization in vitro and in a zebrafish model. It also stimulates osteoblast maturation in cell cultures obtained from patients with cleidocranial dysplasia. Moreover, the use of PLGA nanoparticles enhances fisetin stability and its stimulatory effects on RUNX2 and SP7 expression.

Summary: ACL insufficiency is disabling and requires surgery, but successful ACL reconstruction depends on proper preoperative and postoperative rehabilitation. Advances in surgery and understanding of biological concepts have influenced ACL postoperative rehabilitation protocols, but new technologies may introduce inconsistency. Rehabilitation protocols should consider accurate diagnosis, patient expectations, and geographical differences in ACL rehabilitation.

Summary: Background: Infections after unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) surgery are rare and poorly studied. Optimal management of these infections is unclear. This study presents the results of a large multicentre clinical study of UKA infections treated with the Debridement, Antibiotics and Implant Retention (DAIR) procedure. Results showed high success rates and implant survivorship with the DAIR procedure.

Summary: This study aimed to determine the influence of subjective factors (age, sex, and comorbidities) and procedure-specific factors (aspiration volume) on the yield of progenitor cells in bone marrow aspiration concentrate (BMAC) harvested from the iliac crest. A retrospective analysis on 58 patients undergoing BMAC therapy revealed that age, comorbidities, and aspirate volume significantly affected progenitor cell yield, while sex did not have a significant impact. These findings highlight the importance of considering individual and procedural factors when assessing the effectiveness of BMAC therapy.

Summary: This systematic review provides updated evidence on the use of allografts for medial patella-femoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction. Patient-reported outcome measures, redislocation rates, and complication rates were examined as outcomes. The review followed the PRISMA guidelines and included studies on adolescents and children with recurrent patellofemoral instability (PFI). The results showed improved Kujala and IKDC scores, low rates of dislocation, reoperation, and subluxation. The findings support the use of allografts for MPFL reconstruction in adolescent patients with recurrent patellofemoral instability, but more high-quality studies are needed to fully establish the long-term benefits and complication rates of allograft MPFL.

Summary: Ankle sprains are common and understanding the recovery process is important for effective management decisions and identifying potential risk factors for chronic problems and recurrent sprains. Delayed diagnosis can result in untreated ligament tears and chronic ankle instability. Conservative treatment is preferred, with surgery as an option for special cases. Ankle arthroscopy is increasingly used to address ligament insufficiency and intra-articular pathologies.

Summary: This study compared the differences in ultrastructure and tissue composition of the hip labrum between healthy individuals and those with femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and early hip osteoarthritis (OA). The findings suggest that both FAI and OA patients exhibit similar pathological changes in labral tissue, indicating that FAI patients may have a higher susceptibility to develop OA.
