Summary: A new fluorescent emitter based on pi-extended benzothiadiazole was synthesized, which displayed excellent performance in a fluorescent OLED, including a large molar extinction coefficient, a high quantum yield, and a large radiative decay rate. The resulting TADF-sensitized fluorescent OLED exhibited high efficiency in device performance.

Summary: The study introduces a photochromic supramolecular complex with benzopyran and a fluorescent compound, demonstrating that the presence of the fluorophore can significantly increase the bleaching rate compared to free benzopyran at room temperature. Varying the components in the supramolecular complex is preferable for obtaining desired characteristics in the system.

Summary: In recent years, boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) has been studied as a potential treatment for high-grade gliomas. In this study, the feasibility of using a boron compound, DPA-BSTPG, targeting the 18 kDa translocator protein (TSPO), was investigated. The results showed that BNCT using a combination of DPA-BSTPG and BPA could provide multi-targeted neutron capture therapy, leading to longer survival times in experimental glioma models.

Summary: This study confirms the reproducible safety and efficacy of AtezoBev in routine clinical practice. Patients with impaired liver function (CP-B) showed comparable tolerability to those with normal liver function (CP-A), indicating the need for prospective evaluation in this specific population.

Summary: This study confirms the reproducible safety and efficacy of atezolizumab plus bevacizumab in routine clinical practice for patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma. The presence of portal vein tumor thrombosis (PVTT) and higher ALBI grade are indicators of poorer survival in patients who meet the Child-Pugh-A criteria.

Summary: Immunotherapy is the standard front-line therapy for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma, but many patients do not respond to it. This study evaluated the prognostic value of blood-based markers of inflammation and found that they may predict survival outcomes in patients treated with immunotherapy.

Summary: Diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) is a childhood brainstem tumor with a very poor prognosis, and the available therapeutic options have been limited for many years. However, recent advances in tissue availability and our understanding of tumor biology have led to the development of new therapeutic targets and experimental treatment strategies.

Summary: Neuroendoscopy has become a mainstay in neurosurgical practice, allowing for minimally invasive approaches. However, challenges remain in terms of hemostasis and resection of large masses. New optics have improved image quality, but open craniotomy is still commonly used. The limited utilization of neuroendoscopy presents ongoing challenges for teaching and achieving technical mastery in neurosurgery.

Summary: The lateral transorbital approach (LTOA) is a minimally invasive surgical technique that provides direct access to the cavernous sinus. A retrospective study of CS lesions treated by LTOA showed successful outcomes in all six cases, with an average extent of resection of 64.6%. Improvement in preoperative cranial neuropathies was observed in half of the patients, and there were no new permanent cranial neuropathies. Only one patient had a vascular injury, which was repaired endovascularly without neurological deficits.

Summary: This study aimed to determine the feasibility of venous sinus stenting (VSS) as a treatment for symptoms relief and prevention of recurrence after surgical repair of skull base encephaloceles. The results showed that performing VSS within weeks of surgery can safely alleviate symptoms, resolve underlying pathology, and prevent CSF leak recurrence.
