Summary: The study found that in coronary artery patients, the recovery phase after exercise is characterized by post-exercise hypotension (PEH), which is mainly mediated by generalized peripheral vasodilation and appears to influence blood pressure behavior throughout daily life. Additionally, the cardiac component of the arterial baroreflex seems to indirectly contribute to the blood pressure reduction occurring after exercise.

The mechanisms linking renal decline to mobility deficits are crucial for identifying high-risk individuals and formulating effective treatment strategies. Skeletal muscle energetics and mitochondrial function play a key role in impairing physical function in the progression of T2DM-induced CKD.

Arterial Stiffness Response to Acute Combined Training with Different Volumes in Coronary Artery Disease and Heart Failure Patients

Summary: Resistance training can increase arterial stiffness, while endurance training can decrease it. In this study, the time course of changes in arterial stiffness indices after high-volume combined endurance training and high-volume combined resistance training were compared. The results showed that endurance training decreased arterial stiffness, while resistance training increased it.

Mitochondrial mutations alter endurance exercise response and determinants in mice

Summary: Coronary artery calcium is useful for assessing subclinical atherosclerosis and improving risk stratification. The dispersion of calcified vessels and CAC phenotype have different impacts on cause-specific mortality. This study demonstrated that increasing calcium dispersion, characterized by multiple vessel involvement and less dense calcification, is associated with higher all-cause mortality and cardiovascular disease-specific mortality.
