Summary: The study shows that the concentration of linear low-density polyethylene in the blend with pitch significantly affects the mechanical properties and thermal stability of the fibers. By investigating the impact of different concentrations of linear low-density polyethylene on pitch fibers, a new methodology for selecting appropriate blend ratios has been provided.

Summary: This study investigates the mechanical properties, melts rheology, morphology, and disintegration ability of blends based on Mater-Bi-(R) and poly-L-(lactic acid) (PLLA) with the addition of Joncryl ADR((R)). It was found that adding PLLA and Joncryl ADR((R)) significantly improved the tensile strength, stiffness, and elongation at break of the blend. The inclusion of PLLA also preserved the biodegradation disintegration of the blend.

Summary: The study showed that the addition of a compatibilizer in the melt blended compounds during rotational molding can lead to finer and better dispersed particles, resulting in improved mechanical properties. However, the compatibilizer was more effective in the compression-molded samples.

Summary: Fibrous materials based on poly(ethyleneoxide) (PEO), poly-ε-caprolactone (PCL), and a mixture of them (PEO/PCL) were prepared by solution blow spinning (SBS). The morphology, structure, thermal and mechanical properties, dissolution, and drug release of the materials were investigated. The results showed that the rotation speed of the collector affected the morphology, which in turn influenced the mechanical behavior, dissolution process, and drug release of the materials. These findings are important for the development of controlled release materials for biomedical applications.

Summary: To extend the service life of polyolefin products, antioxidants are necessary in the packaging formula. The use of natural antioxidants can avoid potential health hazards from synthetic ones. Pine needle extracts were investigated as antioxidants for linear low-density polyethylene, showing improved aging resistance and mechanical stability, suggesting their potential as a new candidate for natural antioxidants in the polyolefin industry.

Summary: This study used PEG as a compatibilizer to prepare NCC reinforced PLA nanocomposite films via blown film extrusion. Physical properties, including mechanical performance, barrier characteristics, processing flow properties, and thermal properties, were evaluated and the microstructure was estimated. The results showed that NCC significantly improved the physical properties of PLA nanocomposite films.

Summary: The study found that increasing the extrusion dwell time can more uniformly disperse the pitch and polyethylene components, leading to an increase in fiber strain to failure but a decrease in ultimate tensile strength. Additionally, thermogravimetric analysis showed that increasing dwell time can improve the thermal stability of the samples.

Summary: The relationship between processing conditions, structure and morphology are systematically studied in this research. The effects of solvent composition on the thermal, mechanical behaviors and dissolution rates of the blow spun fibers are investigated, and it is found that the morphology of the fibers changes with the solvent composition.

Summary: Statistically designed blown film experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of molecular weight distribution and processing conditions on film properties. The rheological characteristics provide insight into the complex interactions between molecular and processing parameters. By relating the ratio of polymer largest molecular relaxation time to a process time, a master curve can be obtained for the physical properties of films blown under similar processing conditions. The influence of thermo-mechanical deformation history on crystallisation during blown film processing can be highlighted with complementary experiments using Small Angle Light Scattering patterns.

Summary: Solution blow spinning was used to prepare nonwoven bicomponent fibers consisting of poly (ethylene oxide)-Polysulfone (PEO-PSF). The morphology and structure of the bicomponent material were studied, revealing a core-shell structure with PSF phase at the center and PEO phase mainly at the outer parts of the fibers. The wettability and mechanical properties of the material were improved.

Summary: This paper experimentally investigated the effects of coolant flow rate, location of film holes, tip clearance height, and density ratio on blade tip film cooling effectiveness. Numerical simulation was used to analyze the flow characteristic. The results indicated that the cooling effectiveness gradually increased as the blowing ratio increased. The squealer tip with an inclined pressure side rim exhibited better film cooling effectiveness under the design conditions.

Summary: Blends of PVC and LLDPE often have low compatibility. Adding styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) to the mixture improves the tensile strength and compatibility. The use of a compatibilizer and gamma radiation results in finer blend morphologies with smoother surfaces. Additionally, chemically modifying PVC enhances its oil adsorption capability.
