Summary: A dual catalytic strategy involving an Ir photocatalyst and a Cu complex enables regioselective amination and cross-coupling of allyl alcohols with various nucleophiles. This approach allows for the formation of N-radicals via an energy transfer mechanism followed by interception of alkyl radicals for radical amino-functionalizations of olefins. Insights into the nature of Cu-based radical interception are provided through stereo, regio, and kinetic probes.

Summary: We have developed a convergent method for the synthesis of allylic alcohols with excellent regioselectivity and high E/Z ratio. The reaction involves a reductive coupling of terminal alkynes with alpha-chloro boronic esters and shows broad functional group compatibility. This method complements existing stoichiometric alkenylation reactions using alkenyl lithium and Grignard reagents and enables the selective synthesis of chiral allylic alcohols.

Summary: Here, a new and efficient strategy for the synthesis of alkenyl sulfoxides is reported. The method involves the transition metal-free C-S cross-coupling reaction between sulfenate anions and alkenylsulfonium salts. The in situ generation of sulfenate anions from beta-sulfinyl esters under mild conditions provides an effective approach for the synthesis of diverse alkenyl sulfoxides in moderate to good yields.

Summary: In this study, we have developed a regioselective photocatalytic C3 & alpha;-aminoalkylation of coumarins using a cross-dehydrogenative coupling of dimethylanilines and coumarins. Molecular oxygen acts as the oxidizing agent in this reaction, which shows a broad substrate scope and provides good yields. It is observed that 4-amino-substituted coumarin reacts differently compared to 4-unsubstituted coumarin derivatives.

Summary: A framework for studying the electro-optical coupling in solid-state refrigerators based on electroluminescent cooling (ELC) is developed by combining device measurements with optical simulations. Detailed analysis of the LED and PD's electro-optical response and the spectral coupling from the LED to the PD is reported to break down the detection losses of the device. The results show the importance of the spectral matching and efficiency of the photodetector for the overall photodetection efficiency of the device.

Summary: A visible-light-induced cross-dehydrogenative methodology has been developed for the regioselective sulfenylation of pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine derivatives. Rose bengal, blue LEDs, KI, K2S2O8, and DMSO are all essential for this photocatalytic transformation. The protocol is applicable for the synthesis of a library of 3-(aryl/heteroaryl thio)pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine derivatives with broad functionalities. The selectivity and scalability of the methodology have been also demonstrated. Moreover, the efficiency of this strategy for sulfenylation of pyrazoles, indole, imidazoheterocycles, and 4-hydroxy coumarin has been proven. The mechanistic investigation revealed the radical-based mechanism and formation of diaryl disulfide as a key intermediate for this cross-dehydrogenative coupling reaction.

Summary: This study reports two series of complexes, [Pd(HL1-5)Cl] and [Pd(L1-5)(PPh3)]. The complexes were characterized by mass spectrometry and spectroscopic methods (IR, UV-Vis, and fluorescence). Single crystal X-ray crystallographic studies confirmed the molecular structures of some representative complexes. The experimental results showed that the mass spectrometric, infrared, and electronic spectroscopic characteristics of the complexes were consistent with their molecular structures. Additionally, all the complexes exhibited emissive properties in solution. Theoretical calculations were performed to understand the regioselective per-i-palladation of the 9-phenanthryl fragment of the tridentate ligand.

Summary: Researching carbon dioxide removal from flue gas and natural gas is crucial. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are commonly used in adsorption due to their high surface area, porosity, and chemical properties. An ultra-microporous MOF CPM-20(Co) with mixed ligand was synthesized using inexpensive ligands. The material exhibited high selectivities and low regenerative energy, making it a promising option for CO2 separation in industries.
