Summary: The study identified different types of neurons in the basolateral nucleus of the basal amygdala that showed excitatory or inhibitory responses to the conditioned stimulus during fear conditioning and extinction. These neurons exhibited functional connectivity among excitatory responses, while less connectivity was observed among inhibitory responses. Additionally, correlative neuronal activities were found between neurons that were conditioning-potentiated and those with inhibitory responses to the conditioned stimulus.

Summary: In this study, the authors demonstrated that graphene oxide coating on metal-based neural electrodes could significantly enhance charge storage capacity and reduce impedance without adverse effects on neuronal development. Summary: This study used pulsed-DC electrophoretic deposition (EPD) to deposit laser-generated platinum nanoparticles on neural electrodes and examined the mechanical and electrochemical stability of the resulting coatings using various tests. The results demonstrated that the coatings generated by EPD showed high stability in simulated brain environments and maintained good stability after in vivo stimulation experiments.

Retained neuronal introns were found to be enriched in RNA splicing regulators and had shorter lengths, higher GC contents, and weaker 50 splice sites. Cell-type-specific exons in autism pro-bands were found to have significantly more de novo mutations. These findings highlight the importance of cell-type-specific splicing in autism and neuronal gene regulation.
