Summary: Recent developments in fluorescence spectroscopy allow for the measurement of absorption and dispersed fluorescence spectra of isolated molecular ions at low temperatures. Lower temperatures provide narrower spectra and better information on vibronic features. Experiments were conducted on oxazine dyes cooled to around 100 K, and the results showed small Stokes shifts and broader spectra for the darrow-red cations compared to other ionic dyes.

Summary: The effect of weathering exposure on the optical absorption characteristics of LDPE grad-LA071 has been investigated. It has been found that the optical absorption of LDPE grad-LA071 decreases exponentially with wavelength in different durations of time. In addition, the optical absorption increases significantly with exposure time, especially at high frequencies, suggesting that LDPE grad-LA071 is a practical candidate for a selective filter for UV light. Therefore, it can be used as a UV light mask in semiconductor devices and as a protective shield for solar cells. Furthermore, the LDPE grad-LA071 film can be used in packaging to extend the lifespan of various items.

Summary: Spiropyran compounds are important photochromic molecules used as detectors and fluorescence probes in various fields. A spiropyran derivative with a hydroxyl group was used in this study to recognize different types of amines based on their UV-Vis absorption spectra. Chemical reactions between primary amines and SPOH, as well as alkalinity, were identified as vital interaction mechanisms for the recognition process.

Summary: DPA's Raman and absorption spectra exhibit significant changes with varying pH, and the pKa values were determined experimentally. Fluorescence emission of DPA also shows a shift with pH, indicating the need to consider the different spectral responses from the three ionic forms of DPA in spectral analysis and detection applications.

Summary: This study presents the results of extracting humic substances (HSs) from peat using traditional alkaline extraction (TAE) and ultrasound-assisted alkaline extraction (UAAE). The duration of the process and ultrasound intensity were found to affect the extraction efficiency of humic acids (HAs) and fulvic acids (FAs). The quality of specific fulvic acids fractions was assessed using spectroscopic methods. Ultrasound had a positive effect on HS extraction efficiency, but excessive prolongation and ultrasound intensity negatively affected the extraction efficiency of specific fulvic acid fractions.

Summary: This study reports a novel discovery that embedding actinide elements into coinage metal rings can lead to the formation of near-plane superatoms capable of Z-type tilted quasi-one-dimensional (1D) direct assembly. The success can be attributed to strong bonding between overlapping parts of adjacent superatomic motifs. First-principles calculations show that the motifs maintain their geometric and electronic structures robustly during the assembly process. The absorption spectra demonstrate continuously tunable features and a hyperchromic effect, which is closely related to the participation of Th atoms and the interlayer stacking pattern.

Summary: UV-induced solid-state oligomerization of an amorphous bisanthracene in films was studied using UV-Vis even-order derivative spectra. The study revealed the involvement of both fast and slow photocycloaddition processes, which can be attributed to the difference in the level of π,π-interactions and the significant enhancement of the photo-reaction above the glass transition temperature.

Summary: Polyoxoniobates are polyoxometalates widely used in catalysis, water splitting, and organic reactions. Range-separated hybrids (RSHs) are successful in describing electronic excitations, with wavelength deviations usually smaller than 30 nm. There are slight variations in wavelengths among different compounds, with the largest electronic charge transfer occurring in [Nb6O19](8-).

Summary: New data on the fluorescence of tirapazamine were obtained using experimental and theoretical methods. The optical properties of the molecule were found to remain unchanged when the number of oxygen substitutions decreased. The study also revealed the formation of an anion in the case of tirapazamine with two oxygen atoms and its transformation to tirapazamine with one oxygen atom.

Summary: A 3-acetyl coumarin appended probe has been synthesized and characterized, which exhibits solvent dependent colorimetric detection of Cu2 + and F- ions. The probe interacts with Cu2 + and F- ions in 1:1 stoichiometry with detection limits of 1.4 x 10 -6 M and 1.32 x 10 -6 M, respectively. Additionally, the probe shows aggregation induced emission property in DMF/water binary mixture.
