Summary: The study demonstrates that human adipose-derived stem cells can promote the vascularization of seawater-treated wounds by differentiating into vascular endothelial cells and promoting their proliferation and migration. Bioinformatics analysis identified genes that may regulate wound healing mechanisms such as extracellular matrix remodeling, programmed cell death, inflammation, and vascularization.

Summary: Hypothalamic AgRP neurons control cortical excitability, hyperphagia, and body weight gain by regulating peripheral and central levels of lysophospholipids in association with food deprivation. Changes in peripheral metabolism affect brain lipid levels and cortical excitability. Lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) species are elevated after fasting and contribute to higher cortical excitability. This effect is mediated by hypothalamic AgRP neurons and plays a role in fasting-induced hyperphagia.

Summary: Mesenteric adipose tissue (MAT) in Crohn's disease (CD) is associated with transmural inflammation. Enterobacteriaceae, particularly Klebsiella variicola, are highly enriched in CD-MAT and can induce a pro-inflammatory response, exacerbating colitis in mice models. The active type VI secretion system (T6SS) in K. variicola impairs the intestinal barrier by inhibiting the expression of ZO-1, but its dysfunction alleviates the inhibitory effect and attenuates colitis in mice.

Summary: Knee osteoarthritis (Knee OA) is a condition that causes bone deformity and degradation of articular cartilage, resulting in chronic pain and movement disorders. Administering cultured adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) into the knee joint cavity can improve the symptoms of Knee OA, but the effect of synovial fluid (SF) on the injected ADSCs remains unclear.

Summary: Adipose tissue is a valuable source of stem cells for regenerative therapies. This study identified the P2Y(2) receptor as a regulator of the cardioprotective action of cardiac adipose-derived stem cell (cADSC) transplantation. The study showed that UTP treatment enhanced the effect of cADSC on cardiac revascularization. These findings highlight the importance of P2Y(2) receptor in the therapeutic use of cADSC for post-ischemic cardiac ischemia.

Summary: This study reveals that neurogenic EVs derived from Parkinson's disease patients facilitate alpha-synuclein pathology and neuron loss in a PD mouse model. By analyzing EV-associated microRNA profiles, novel_miR_44438 is found to be significantly increased in PD-derived EVs. It promotes alpha-synuclein accumulation and neuronal degeneration by inhibiting exosome biogenesis and release.

Summary: Cell-assisted lipotransfer (CAL) is a novel technique that improves the low survival rate of traditional fat grafting by co-transplanting adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs). This study investigates the use of mechanical stress to enhance the potency of ASCs in CAL. Results show that mechanical stress increases ASC proliferation, leading to improved engraftment in CAL procedures.

Summary: Antioxidant compounds play a crucial role in nutrition and healthcare by preventing oxidation processes and reducing oxidative stress. Bio-sourced antioxidants, such as antioxidant peptides obtained from milk protein casein, have gained significant attention in recent decades. In this study, a series of bio-inspired antioxidant peptides were designed to chelate iron(III) and act as both indirect and direct antioxidants.

Summary: This study demonstrates that human adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (AD-MSCs) can effectively cure hypertrophic scars by promoting the apoptosis of hypertrophic scar fibroblasts (HSFs) and inhibiting their proliferation and migration. The therapeutic effect is associated with the inhibition of nuclear factor erythroid-2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) expression in HSFs. AD-MSCs may provide an alternative approach for treating hypertrophic scars.

Summary: A recent study has found that maternal obesity is associated with placental oxidative damage and premature senescence. The study investigated whether adipose tissue-derived NOX4 is the main cause of placental senescence in obese pregnancies. The results showed that the placenta from the obese group exhibited significant oxidative damage and senescence. Adipocyte-derived exosomes containing NOX4 could induce placental oxidative damage and senescence, leading to adverse pregnancy outcomes.

Summary: Cancer begins as a localized tissue disorder, leading to a host response and eventually whole-body changes that facilitate metastasis. Remote organ-specific prometastatic reactions may occur, along with additional signaling factors from an inter-organ communication network that can also regulate prometastatic effects of cancer and non-cancer tissue.

Summary: Experimental studies show that lipopolysaccharide (LPS) has a minor impact on the secretome of colorectal cancer cell lines, but can alter protein release in a cell line-specific manner. This modulation may play a role in orchestrating the development of liver metastasis in colorectal cancer, especially through extracellular vesicle communication.
