Summary: This study aimed to identify the speciation of gadolinium (Gd) retained in the deep cerebellar nuclei (DCN) of rats administered with gadoterate or gadodiamide. The results showed that the form of Gd in the DCN differed between the two contrast agents. For gadoterate, the majority of Gd was present in the soluble fraction, while for gadodiamide, most of the Gd was in the form of insoluble particulate species. This study provided important evidence for the dechelation of linear GBCAs and offered insights into the mechanisms of Gd deposition in the brain.

Summary: This study verifies the usability of choroid plexus volume as a new biomarker for monitoring the progression of multiple sclerosis disease. The study finds a correlation between the CPV/TIV ratio and the progress of MS disease, with the ratio consistently increasing. Choroid plexus volume is considered a valuable radiological biomarker of MS activity.

Summary: This case report describes the clinical presentation, MRI findings, and histopathological findings of an elderly cat with an intracranial cholesterol granuloma. The cat presented with deteriorating behavioral changes and progressive general ataxia. MRI revealed a large, irregular mass in the lateral ventricles. Histological examination confirmed the mass as bilateral cholesterol granuloma.

Summary: By utilizing a robust method without the need for mouse co-culture, three-dimensional cerebellar organoids were successfully generated from human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs), displaying hallmarks of in vivo cerebellar development. Single-cell profiling revealed the presence and maturity of transcriptionally distinct populations encompassing major cerebellar cell types. This xeno-free human cerebellar organoid model provides valuable insight into cerebellar development and associated disorders through enrichment of cerebellar disease genes in distinct cell populations.

Summary: The choroid plexus (CP) plays an important role in producing cerebrospinal fluid and transporting proteins and immune cells in the brain. This study aimed to investigate the association between obesity and the microstructure and volume of the CP. Summary: The study aimed to compare the toxicological profile of a new high-relaxivity macrocyclic gadolinium-based contrast agent, gadopiclenol, with other macrocyclic and linear GBCAs in renally impaired rats. Results showed that gadodiamide caused high morbidity-mortality and skin lesions, whereas gadopiclenol, gadoterate, and gadobutrol did not. Overall, gadolinium concentrations were lower in tissues of rats treated with gadopiclenol compared to gadodiamide, except in the liver. No biochemical abnormalities or skin lesions were observed with gadopiclenol, gadoterate, or gadobutrol.

Summary: Choroid Plexuses (ChP) play a crucial role in producing cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and have been found to undergo volumetric changes in various neurological diseases. To investigate their role, an automated and reliable ChP segmentation tool is needed for large-scale studies. In this study, we propose a novel 2-step 3D U-Net-based automatic method for ChP segmentation, which minimizes preprocessing steps for ease of use and lower memory requirements.

Summary: This study investigated age and sex differences in the structure and function of the choroid plexus in cognitively unimpaired individuals. The results showed that choroid plexus volume increased with age, cerebral blood flow decreased, and certain MRI measures changed with age. These changes may be related to deteriorating structural integrity of the choroid plexus with age.
