Summary: This study examined the behavioural, normative, and control beliefs of registered nurses in Saudi Arabia regarding end-of-life care for patients with advanced and life-limiting illnesses. The study also identified the barriers and facilitators they encountered in providing such care. The findings revealed that multidisciplinary team collaboration was seen as the most efficient way to deliver end-of-life care, while discussing end-of-life care with patients or families was believed to lead to feelings of hopelessness. Paradoxically, many nurses held the negative belief that patients at the end of life should receive both curative and palliative care.

Summary: This study aims to explore the dimensions of palliative nursing care quality and the development of the Palliative Nursing Care Quality Scale. Through the Delphi technique and interviews, an expert panel reached consensus on the dimensions of the scale and identified four emergent themes related to good nursing care. The quality of palliative nursing care goes beyond comprehensive care and emphasizes the meticulous attention to every important detail for the patient, focusing on their needs and respecting their wishes. Specifying and reaching a consensus on nursing care quality contributes to excellence in care and enhances the professional profile of advanced practice palliative care nurses.

Summary: Delphi techniques are utilized in healthcare and nursing to gather explicit and implicit knowledge from experts for reaching group consensus. The development of consensus standards using Delphi techniques can be challenging due to the dependence on expert participation and statistical definition of consensus. However, these standards are crucial for promoting information exchange and ensuring comparable procedures in healthcare practices.
