Summary: The study demonstrates that CT-guided robotic assistance for percutaneous needle placement in the liver is feasible, safe, and accurate in a swine model. Accuracy was not affected by trajectory length, trajectory angulation, or operator experience. A prospective human clinical trial is currently underway.

Summary: This study assessed the technical success and complication rates of CT-guided fiducial marker placement for pulmonary nodule localization, as well as the surgical localization failure rate. The results demonstrated that this method is safe, effective, and associated with a low surgical localization failure rate.

Summary: The study showed that even without experience and minimal training, surgeons can successfully and reproducibly perform percutaneous needle placement under CT guidance quickly and accurately using a robotic arm. This suggests that robotic technology may facilitate surgeon adoption of CT image-guided needle-based procedures in the future.

Summary: This study investigated the diagnostic efficacy of CT-guided transthoracic lung core needle biopsy combined with aspiration biopsy and the clinical value of routine microbial detection. The results showed that the combination of core needle biopsy and aspiration biopsy significantly improved the diagnostic rate of benign and malignant lesions. Additionally, aspiration biopsy identified pulmonary malignant lesions complicated with pulmonary tuberculosis and other infections. Overall, the diagnostic ability of CT-guided lung biopsy combined with routine microbial detection was significantly improved in the diagnosis of pulmonary infectious diseases.

Summary: This study compared the accuracy and safety of ultrasound-guided and palpation-guided needling techniques for the patellar tendon. The results showed that ultrasound-guided procedures had higher accuracy and lower rates of puncture and unintentional damage, but they required more time and passes to complete.

Summary: Passive shoulder supports have great potential for various applications. This study explores the use of mechanisms with flexible elements for these supports, and discovers many potential designs. Two promising designs were developed and tested, showing positive results. The study suggests that a design with a tapered flexure connector is the most promising solution.
