Summary: This paper investigates a new route to synthesize reversibly cross-linked rubber based on the Diels-Alder chemistry. By grafting furan groups onto the polymer backbone and adding bis-maleimide compound, a thermo-reversible cross-linked elastomer is formed. The resulting rubber has easily tunable mechanical properties and exhibits good reprocessability.

Summary: A copper-catalyzed ligand-controlled selective 1,2- and 1,4-hydrosilylation of 1,3-enynes was reported, which achieved enantiomerically enriched propargyl- and 1,2-allenylsilane products in high yields and excellent enantioselectivities. The reaction showed broad substrate scope and excellent regioselectivities, with mechanistic studies revealing the importance of allenylcopper as the reactive intermediate and the role of ligand in controlling the regioselectivity switch. The high enantiocontrol in the 1,4-hydrosilylation was also explained by DLPNO-CCSD(T) calculations.

Summary: Studies have been conducted on the supramolecular chemistry of iso-tellurazole N-oxides in non-polar media. However, this study introduces a derivatized iso-tellurazole N-oxide that is soluble in polar solvents and stable in aqueous media. The compound forms macrocyclic complexes with nickel (II) and iron (II) through CTe...O chalcogen bonds and kappa(6)-O bound to the metal ion, which is different from the complexes formed by soft metal ions.

Summary: 1,2-Ethenediols are key intermediates in prebiotic and interstellar syntheses of carbohydrates. In this study, we synthesized these enediols in the gas phase and trapped them in cryogenic argon matrices. Importantly, when subjected to photolysis at a wavelength of 180-254 nm, the enols rearrange into the simplest sugar, glycolaldehyde.

Summary: The chemistry of carbohydrates has a long history, and a simple, stereoselective and efficient glycosylation method is still needed for studying sugars. This study presents a strategy for 1,2-cis-glycosylation without using metals or strong acids. The method activates glycosyl donors through a radical cascade, resulting in the formation of 1,2-cis-glycosides with high stereoselectivity. The reaction shows remarkable tolerance to functional groups and is applicable to a broad range of donors.

Summary: This study describes the sustainable synthesis, characterization, and evaluation of the electrochemical and biological properties of different substituted derivatives of 1,4- and 1,2-naphthoquinones (NQ). The synthesis of the derivatives was optimized using a microwave-assisted protocol, providing a more sustainable approach. The compounds were found to have potential anti-cancer activity against HepG2 cell lines and inhibitory action against AChE enzymes. Docking studies showed different binding interactions for the derivatives.

Summary: Through investigating Bronsted acids as catalysts, trifluoromethanesulfonic acid was found to exhibit high catalytic activity in low-polar solvents for the 1,4-addition reactions, enabling the synthesis of succinimides. Furthermore, a catalytic amount of trifluoromethanesulfonic acid in toluene could also realize the 1,4-addition reactions of 1,3,5-trimethoxybenzene to acrylates.

Summary: The one-pot reaction synthesized tricyclic boronate species with a pi delocalized structural skeleton, showing photophysical properties and colorimetric properties in different solvents. Substitution of hydrogen atom by chlorine atom in chlorophenol derivative compounds stabilized HOMO and LUMO levels, resulting in decreased transition energy values. Compounds with extended pi conjugation, such as pyrene and anthracene derivatives, exhibited smaller band gap energy compared to phenyl derivatives.

Summary: We reported the synthesis of eight indium coordination compounds derived from amino amides 1-8 and InCl3. Crystallographic and NMR studies revealed the unusual chelation coordination of the metal ion to the amine and carbonyl groups of the ligands. The presence of formation-breaking and interchange equilibria were evidenced by vibrational, Raman, and UV spectroscopy studies, indicating the potential biological interchange of In3+ using these coordination compounds.

Summary: Dual-emissive water-dispersible sulfur-doped carbon dots (S-CDs) were synthesized from canola oil and exhibited wavelength-dependent and independent emissions. These S-CDs showed selectivity and linear turn-off fluorescence in the presence of Cr(VI) and acetone, making them potential nanosensors. The emission spectrum of S-CDs red-shifted in the presence of acetone, with a concentration-dependent response. The nanoparticles were also effective in reducing Cr(VI) to Cr(III) and could be incorporated into a polymer matrix for water decontamination.
