However, there are discrepancies in the research on the transfer of xenomiRs, possibly due to experimental artifacts, small sample size, and inefficient bioinformatics pipeline. While xenomiRs were absent in most samples, they were found in colostrum and may modulate infants' immune systems.

Summary: Oral cancer is a significant public health concern with a negative impact on society. Despite advancements in treatment, the survival rate for oral cancer remains low, and the underlying molecular mechanisms of OSCC carcinogenesis are not fully understood. Noncoding RNAs, such as microRNAs and long ncRNAs, play important roles in cancer cell development. Understanding the relationship between ncRNAs and different types of cell death is essential. Manipulating ncRNA expression offers potential for controlling the occurrence and development of oral cancer. This review aims to explore the impact of ncRNAs on cell death and identify potential targets for oral cancer therapy.

Summary: This study used CRISPR/Cas9 technology to generate in situ knockin (KI) strains of all C. elegans Argonautes. Through RNA immunoprecipitation and high-throughput sequencing, the sRNA profiles of individual Argonautes were obtained, and their sRNA partners were analyzed. The study revealed how different Argonautes bind to different types of sRNAs and demonstrated their regulatory roles in transgenerational epigenetic inheritance and managing levels of long transcripts. The findings provide a comprehensive view of the regulatory network formed by C. elegans Argonautes and sRNAs.

Summary: Transfer RNAs (tRNAs), responsible for amino acid translocation during protein synthesis, can be sheared into small non-coding RNA fragments known as tRNA-derived small RNAs (tDRs). With the advancements in sequencing technologies and bioinformatics, more tDRs have been identified, showing their essential role in transcription, translation, and various cellular processes. Aberrant expression of tDRs is associated with human diseases, particularly tumorigenesis and tumor progression. tDRs regulate the tumor microenvironment by influencing cancer stem cells, immunity, energy metabolism, and extracellular matrix remodeling, highlighting their clinical application prospects.

The review also examines the complex interplay of lncRNAs with CRC tumor subtypes, their impact on immunity and inflammation within the tumor stroma, and their transportation through extracellular vesicles, specifically exosomes. Additionally, the review delves into the intricate relationship between lncRNAs and other non-coding RNAs, such as microRNAs and circular RNAs, in mediating cell-to-cell communication within the CRC microenvironment.
