Summary: Based on the data from the German Oral Health Studies, it is predicted that by 2030, the average number of missing teeth in adults will decrease by two-thirds to 1.3, while the average number of missing teeth in seniors aged 65-74 will decline to 5.6, also a two-thirds reduction. The prevalence of tooth loss is expected to decrease by 72% by 2030, with half of the adult population and about one-third of seniors not exhibiting any tooth loss by that time.

Summary: This study investigated the relationship between Alzheimer's disease (AD) and oral health status. The results showed that AD patients had a higher number of decayed, missing, and filled teeth (DMFT) compared to controls, and a higher presence of Fusobacterium nucleatum. The study suggests that chronic periodontitis may be associated with AD.

Summary: The study found that the survival rate of molars undergoing complex endodontic treatment was 91.7% after 89 months. Factors such as adjacent tooth absence and deviance in root canal morphology significantly decreased the probability of tooth survival, while inadequate coronal seal and root canal morphology deviance significantly decreased the probability of endodontic healing.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the association between oral health-related conditions and the oral microbiome in a sample of centenarians. The findings showed that the diversity and structure of the oral microbiome were influenced by the presence and condition of natural teeth. Additionally, regular dental visits and salivary pH were found to have significant effects on the microbial composition. Most centenarians had hyposalivation and acidic pH, which could negatively impact the microbiome diversity.
